the field trip slip

Anybody out there a "parent"magazine reader. If so check out the How embarrassing section, I think its page 38. Under what a Doll, Yup thats me and Hannah, what a doll she is huh?.

So last week Hannah brought home a field trip slip. The kindergarten class is going to the zoo. I am so nervous to let her go. What if the chaperones lose her. What would I do then. Jump up and down with Joy? Hmm, that sounds good, No.... I would probably freak out. I can't be the uncool mom who doesn't let her child go on a field trip, but can I be the neurotic mom that calls the teacher every 15 minutes to make sure the lion hasn't eaten my daughter. I've tried to teach her right vs wrong, and not to talk to strangers, but its not like shies ever been tempted before either. Would all my blabbering still be in her head when I'm not there. Shes only 5 I don't want to scare her never to go outside again. I could really screw up her life, this is a big decision. Should I let her go on the trip or keep her home safe with me?

  1. LET HER GO!

Unless the teacher has a history of losing children at the zoo. I can understand that you're nervous, but I'm willing to bet that the teacher has done this before. Maybe you can talk to the teacher about your concerns; something like: Hannah is really friendly, and I would appreciate it if you could keep a close eye on her so she doesn't leave with another family.
