Day 27, a baby story

Its still hard for me to cope that Alanna is 1 year old now. I didn't have a blog when Alanna was born so I didn't get to share her borth story with the world. We have shared it many times with our family, but I haven't talked much about it here. It was a normal pregnancy, but watched carefully because of the pregnancy I had with Hannah. I had preclampsia with Hannah and was on bed rest for 3 1/2 weeks...thats a whole nother post right there so we will move on....I worked everyday up until 2 weeks before my original due date of November 28th. I started to have false labor pains, that I thought were real at the time while I was at work. I work in Detroit which is about 35-40 minutes away from my home and maybe about an hour away from my doctor and the hospital I wanted to deliver at. So I left work and went to the doctor. She told me they were false pains, that did not feel false at the time and to go home and rest. She said she wanted to see me on Monday, because my blood pressure was high and with my history she wanted no problems to rise. Sine that day was friday I went home and enjoyed my weekend, knowing I didn;t have to go back to work for at least 6 weeks. I went to the doctor on Monday and my blood pressure was still high so she decided to induce...at this point I was so ready, my due date was 2 weeks away and I did not want to wait. I went home and packed a bag and called Chris at work. He came home and we went to the hospital. I was induced at 2:30. Well labor didn't go as expected and not much had happened by midnight, so they stopped labor for a while so I could sleep. The next day they started again and not much was happening again....so the dr came in about 5:30 and brole my water. Almost instant the pains started to come and I was in such unbearable pain that the tears started to come. I got my pain medicine and Alanna joined us on November 15, 2005 at 7:24pm. Oh did I tell you about the tornado siren that went off as I was pushing...yup a tornado touched ground right in the middle of me pushing...it landed maybe a couple of miles away. Crazy huh? Anyways Alanna Baylee King had a head full of black hair and big round eyes that stared back at her mommy and daddy as we cried over her. Thats the story...thats how my baby came into the world..right in the middle of a tornado. Later that night my step dad broght Hannah to see her new baby sister. I cried when Hannah was holding her it was such a sweet sight to see.

I took Alanna to the doctor today for her 1 year check up. My once 6 pounds 13 oz, 19 1/2 in long baby girl is now 20.4 pounds and 28 1/2 in long.....wow what a big girl I have on my hands now...
