Bad, bad mommy

Okay 1st things 1st, I have to add a cute picture of Alanna so you all will forgive me for whats to come below.
Okay I feel like the worlds worst mom. Let me explain. Being a young mom I tend to talk to Hannah a little different than my mom talked to me when I was little. I have a REALLY bad habit of calling Hannah, dare I say it a "butt" I know I should not be calling a 6 year old a butt, but its a horrible nickname and I do sometimes say it....like Hannah stop being a butt. Okay with that said, I got a call at work from daycare the other day. She told me that Hannah called D.J. (Hannah's cousin that attends the same daycare and kindergarten class) a "BUTT". Daycare said she really wasn't sure how I would like her to handle this and asked my opinion. I started laughing, well that nervous little laugh that some get when they know they are in trouble for something funny they did. I told her it was my fault because sometimes that word, that terrible word slips from my mouth. I asked to talk to Hannah. Poor little thing was already crying. I 1st had to calm her down without laughing and tell her she was not in trouble. I did tell her though that name calling is bad I am sorry that sometimes mommy makes mistakes and calls her silly names. I told her its not nice because she does not like it when D.J. calls her names. She was better and then I had to try to get myself out of trouble with daycare. Yeah go ahead and say it, I am the worst mom....Since we're getting it all out, I sometimes call Alanna tubby, and buger butt. You all are probably thinking that, GOD this lady only calls her kids mean names. I also have angel baby and peanut for Hannah and piglet and sweets for Alanna, so I make up for it. Does anyone out there have "bad mommy" nicknames for their kids, please let me know so I don't get the horrible mom of the year award for this post.

LOL that's pretty funny. I don't have any really bad nicknames for Cricket yet but we've been making fun of his unibrow and hairy back lately :) I also started calling him Little Bighead...not sure if that's mean or not :)

  2. I keep making the excuse that Baby A is too young to understand when I call her names. I have called her an idiot, or told her to stop being an idiot. I have also told her to shut up or yelled at her from bed to shut up. Feel better?

  5. Well, mine are really worse than that so, her nickname though is booger, and poor thing has so many of them that the nickname fits, but I gave her the booger nick name when she was only a couple days old and it just stuck. I did have the daycare people pull me aside because my daughter called her boots "sh*t kicker" (it's a redneck thing, I'm from way south in Ohio.

  6. Mine are just as bad. I call DD "shrimp", "bug", "monkey" and even "little midget", "boogie nose"! The list goes on and on if I add the names my inlaws have for her. I think it's all really cute and harmless.
