A day at the Farm

I've really been trying to make the last of the summer count with the girls. The first part of the summer I was on bed rest and then had to take it easy, plus it was so HOT that leaving the house was a hard time. At the end of the summer I was trying to get over just having a baby ripped from my stomach and dealing with the lack of sleep. With Hannah starting school is less than a week I really wanted to do something fun, so when she looks back on her summer vacay it wasn't a total bust.
We have a small dairy farm near us called Caulders and they produce milk, cheese, ice cream, and and lots more good stuff. They are open to the public and enjoy people coming and walking around. And the best part of it is that its free. So my friend and I decided it would be fun to take our kids and go for the day. Deanna has Shelby who is 16, and Julia who is 7, I have of course Hannah 8, Alanna 2 1/2 and Ben 5 weeks. We went and enjoyed the pigs and cows and had a picnic lunch under the pavilion by the pond with the ducks. Then we enjoyed some homemade ice cream, which was oh so yummy! The kids had a really great time and when we asked Alanna what her favorite part was she said her ice cream in her belly...Hannah said the same thing too. All the pictures are here..ENJOY.
After walking around the farm all day we headed to the library and read some fun books. Both the girls picked out a movie and I finally found a book to read in my spare time..Which means I will probably never get to read it before its time to return it, LOL. Over all the day was a fun and perfect day and it was exactly what I was hoping for. I just hope Hanna has the same feelings..What do you think?
