FFF, Valentine edition

I know its a couple days late, but I wanted to share our Valentine evening with all of you. Chris and I decided to stay in and have a nice family night with the kids. Well thats what we planned...

Hannah decided to stay at a friends house, because what could be more lame than being at home on V Day? Ben was asleep at 7, and Alanna was drugged with sugar. By the end of the night, we caught her laying on the floor rolling in circles, chanting, I'm not tired, I'm not tired! Let me back up a little.

Earlier in the day the girls and I made valentine chocolate chip cookies. The ones with the pink and red striped chips..Yum. During nap time for the little kids, Hannah and I made strawberries and bananas dipped in chocolate. Of course we ate some as we made some.

For dinner I made homemade chicken fried rice with sweet peas, carrots and onions. My MIL came over with some restaurant egg rolls and sweet ans sour sauce, double YUM.

For dessert, I Rachael Ray'ed it. Last week on her show she showed how to heat up store bought chocolate sauce on the stove and smash fresh raspberries in it. So we got waffle bowls, vanilla ice cream, poured the sauce over it and then topped with the remaining fresh raspberries and whip cream, now that deserves a triple YUM, because holy yumminess was it GOOD.

We ordered a free movie on demand, and laid down on the couch. Like I said before Ben was in bed at 7, Alanna was in bed at 8:30 and my darling husband was asleep on the couch at 8:00. I finished the movie and then I woke Chris up and we both sleepily walked to bed and went back to sleep. Over all, I think we had a great night. I had Hannah for half the night before she went to her friends and the rest of us were home cuddled together. I love family nights, and just being home on our own couches..Its the best.

To all you out there, I hope you had a great night as well.

Oh and for the present part, Chris thought this one up....He got a job, YAY for me, and I cooked a great dinner, YAY for him, and me....but shhhh I won't tell him that. Happy Valentine's Day!
