Pictures of the cabin vacation are up here. Since I never have any time to dedicate to a real post here is the short version...as usual!
~Sunday: Arrived around 4, unpacked ate dinner, hung out, watched movies, went to bed
~Monday: Rained most of the day, ventured into town around 5, ate pizza, went to the local Walmart, went for ice cream, came back watched movies went to bed.
~Tuesday: Packed all morning to take the boat out. Traveled 20 minutes to the lake...got boat in water. As soon as we hit the open water, Ben started crying and cried the entire 25-30 minutes we tried to cruise. Docked boat and he stopped crying. (Shortest boat ride EVER!)
Took kids to the beach had a GREAT time until Ben ate a mouth full of sand and puked on himself and Alanna. Cleaned kids up and traveled 20 minutes back to cabin with cranky, dirty kids. Gave kids a bath, watched movies and went to bed.
~Wednesday: Took the kids to a petting zoo. Let them feed the animals carrots, left to go to dinner. On the way to dinner seen 2 Michigan Black bears. 1st time ever seeing a bear, and 1st time my dad seen one up north too! Went back to the cabin and......(you guessed it) watched movies and went to bed.
~Thursday: Time to come home. Packed up, cleaned up and drove 2 hours in a horrible storm. It was so bad I was going 45mph and could not see 2 feet in front of me. Turned a corner and the sun was shining and the roads were dry for the rest of the 1 1/2 hours to go....Stupid Michigan weather!
Now we did do more things in between, but if I explained it all it wouldn't be the short version. We did things like take a walk....got lossed....called my dad almost crying because I had no idea where we where (well besides on the side of a BUSY, FAST paced main road, with 3 kids, one crying because she has to pee, one crying because WE.ARE.SO.LOST.FOREVER, and one crying because his brilliant mother forgot his bottle, pacifier, and/or his lovey blanket.)....called my dad in between losing signals 80 times, he finally got the clue we were lost and came to look for us.
The kids played outside a lot....They love my dads 2 dogs...Chance and Snickers. All 3 kids wore the dogs out and vise versa...I know Ben is still looking for the dogs today.
We had a great time with my dad....Thanks for letting us come turn your world upside down. It was so sweet seeing Hannah helping, Alanna crawling up in your lap and Ben following you around. Your 3 shadows, sure miss you today!
