Just waiting for the right "Angel" to come along

Those of you who know me, know that I am not a fan of animals. Yes they are cute, and cuddly, but after having 3 kids and a husband and cleaning the house ALL day adding laundry, dishes, and dinner, I have no time or love for a pet. I know you are probably wondering about Abby, our cat. Yes he gets plenty of lovin, but Abby only likes a little lovin and would much rather flop on the back of the couch, ALONE, and bath in the warm sunlight.

I'm sure I have mentioned before that Chris and the kids have begged and begged for a dog and I always say no. Then it got to the point, where I was all OK, Chris you say the word and when you want a dog we can get a dog. Time went on and no word came, so I was in the clear. Last weekend when we were in Hillsdale, we went to an animal auction...Mostly farm chickens, goats, horses, etc. Out front of the auction was a small flea market sort with vendors selling shoes, beadwork, fruit and veggies all the way down to dogs and kitties. I thought that was the day Chris was saying the "word". One man had beagle/terrier 10 week old puppies. He was in love. Then reality hit and he thought that breed just wasn't right for us. So we kept moving on, except, I didn't. The girl puppy was so beautiful, I wanted her that day. Chris told me his reasons and I knew he was right.
Later that day I told him I couldn't get a puppy off my mind and when we get home I want to start seriously thinking about adding to our family. He thought I was funny because for years I have been anti dog.

To make a long story finally come to an end, he started searching and we found our Angel. She is 3 yrs old, Shiba Inu/terrier mix and came with a bed, a cage, toys, food and treats. We did have a little trouble with her the first day growling at the little kids. Then my neighbor who works for the humane society in the vet wing came over and gave us some pointers. Since that night, she has been nothing but, well......an Angel. We have had no growling, but lots of play. She is so well mannered and won't even get on the couch when we tell her its okay. She follows me everywhere I go, and sleeps in front of my bedroom door. I tell her she can come in and sleep on the bed, but she prefers to sleep outside the door, she is a great protector. She lets Hannah walk her and Ben stumble on her and takes it with ease. Shes still a little unsure about Alanna, but if you know Alanna, we are all a little unsure of her at times, LOL. I think I'm falling in love with my pretty Angel. Yesterday I went to the pet store and bought her the prettiest pink collar in polka dots!
This was the picture I first saw her.
Here she is waiting patiently for the treat
I was bribing her with for a good picture
Here she is standing while I flash the camera in her face..
Just like the kids to turn her head at the last minute
And my precious Angel again.
She really is a great dog and I can't wait to take many more pictures. Looks like I'm in the doggy club now, Lori, Tana, Lindsey.
