What a great party Alanna had yesterday. It was filled with friends and family and of course her favorite, a Sponge Bob birthday cake. I think 3 is the best birthday. They understand the concept of please and thank you and have so much fun opening the presents. Christmas will be so much fun this year. call bps (blog protected services), we have a neglected blog here

My blog has seriously been neglected lately and it sure isn't for lack of things to write about. So much is going on its just been crazy to try and find time to sit down.
Starting last Thursday the 21st. It was Chris' birthday. We celebrated by going out to one of his fav restaurants full of sea food. I am not a big fan of sea food, I have just started trying somethings and not yet completely comfortable with eating an entire plate of sea critters. I ate chicken. We left Hannah and Alanna with my MIL and took Ben, who was a really big hit with the waitresses. Chris carried Ben in his car seat/carrier and all the waitresses flocked to him and followed him to our table. Chris got a kick out of that..LOL. We enjoyed a quiet dinner and then headed back home to the girls. It was a nice night out.

Over the weekend our neighborhood had they semi annual garage sales. The kids and I walked around for a little bit, and found some great things. One of our neighbors is the mom to my brothers friend..(did you get that?) and she has a daughter a little older than Hannah and so we always find nice clothes there for school. We got a couple pair of jeans, some shirts and a winter coat for $10.00. I love deals like that.

Last night (Monday) the local library branch had Farmer Jason live and in concert. Farmer Jason is a singer who travels all over the world, and sings silly songs for the kids. I took Alanna and we spent some 1 on 1 time together rockin and rollin with Farmer Jason. It was a fun time. They had a mini mosh pit for the kids and loud music all about the animals in the forest and on the farm. At first she didn't know what to think about it and then she warmed up and joined the other kids on the stage..
My camera died before I got a good shot of Farmer Jason but you can sort of see him through all the kids in the back.

He was really friendly and funny and I am so happy that once again I ventured into the unknown and let my children experience things that before may not have. We got home sort of late from our "concert" and this is how I found my boys. Like father like son.

Over the weekend Chris helped a friend move and was rewarded with this old lay z boy. Its blue and old and comfy and doesn't match a thing and Chris seems to think it fits in perfect with our living room...So for now its staying but check back later because it may just pick up and walk to the other living room that IS decorated in mismatch..LOL.

Ben is offically 1 month old. I cannot believe that a month has already passed. Its seems like so long ago we came home from the hospital and he was a little itty bitty baby. Now he is still itty bitty but a little bigger and so cuddley. He is ever so sweet and I could nibble on his cheeks everyday. And here is proof that Ben is just like his father and loves to torture me..The other night Ben slept 8 hours and the next 7.5..Just as I was thinking "thank you god I need the sleep" he woke to eat every 4 hours last night...Thanks son, love you too, happy 1 month.

the ring sling

Drea is doing another sling givaway at DE reviews. I am so excited about this one, because I really want a ring sling for the new baby. This is one purchase I will be splurging on before the baby gets here. With this baby being our 3rd, he/she will have lots of hand me downs. NOT that, thats a bad thing, because I LOVE hand me downs, but I do feel a child should have some of their things be new and special and just for that child...Anyways, I really want to try a ring sling, I don't have one of these, and I really like how you can use them on infants and toddlers. The sleepy wrap

Andrea over at DE reviews is hosting a really neat giveaway. She giving a sleepy wrap away. I'm really into baby wearing, but Alanna isn't to fond of it right now. I think thats because I didn't hear about baby wearing until over the summer and Alanna was not used to it, she was already over 18 months old. We tried it a couple more times but it was more of an up down type of thing with her. However with the new baby, I really want to start the baby young, like from birth to get the baby used to it. I think there are a lot of benefits of baby wearing and would like to experience them with this baby.

Four Peas Contest

If you noticed, I took a break from all the summer contests for about a week or so because I was starting to feel like a loser not winning anything. But Drea has this awesome contest going on right now that is too cute to pass up. She is giving away a toddler backpack from Four Peas, that would be perfect for Alanna. With Alanna almost 2 now, I know can you believe it?, carring a huge diaper bag is starting to get old. When we head out, really all we need now is a sippy cup, 1 or 2 diapers, and some wipes. This adorable backpack would look so cute on her, and then free up my hands so I have more time to run after her and not worry about bumping other people with a huge overflowing diaperbag. Rockstar Baby

In case you don't remember or just don't know I am going to be an aunt to not just one baby but two babies very soon. Chris' brother and his wife are expecting a baby boy in September, and my brother and his girlfriend are expecting a baby girl in November. And even though I have to great girls of my own, I am more than just a little excited about these 2 events. Why? Because I have baby fever for one and two, being an Aunt is the greatest feeling. My girls will have new baby cousins to play with and I will be able to spoil them rotten and then send home.

Drea, again is having another contest, I know what you are saying, Geez, another contest, but I swear I will continue on until I win something, anything I.JUST.WANT.TO.WIN!, so where was I....Oh right Drea is having another contest and this one is from My Rockstar Baby and they are offering some of the cutest onsies in the world, along with some babylegs to match. Grosser than Gross

More talk about contests.
Over at Adventures in Baby wearing Steph is having a grosser than gross contest. Your supposed to tell about the grossest story and if you win, you get a Kone. So I was thinking there are a million and 1 gross stories out there when you have kids, but the 1st that came to my mind was one of Hannah just recently. I will try not to get to graphic, but here is you warning...so beware! I can't believe I am about to tell you this...My daughter will need therapy when she is older.

I bought Hannah a one piece bathing suit this summer. This is her 1st one piece and was having a hard time going to the bathroom. My mom, the "awesome"grandma that she is taught Hannah how to "pull" the bathing suit to the side for #1.

Hannah thought this was the coolest thing EVER and quickly got the hang of it. One night while I was on the computer, Hannah comes running inside yelling as she passed that she had to go to the potty rrrrrreeeeeeaaaaaallllllllyyyyyyy bad. About 15 minutes later I realized Hannah was still in the bathroom. I knock on the door to make sure she is feeling okay and she told me I could come in. What I walked into was the worst sight and smell you could ever imagine. Hannah had went #2, but instead of taking off her bathing suit, she "pulled" it over. Do you see where I'm going with this? When you "pull" over the bathing suit, it only uncovers the front goods, NOT.YOUR.BACK! I couldn't very well make her clean the mess up herself...Hannah is only 7, so being the dedicated, hard working, loving, caring (too much?) mom that I am, I grabbed a bucket and rag and went to work....Now THATS.GROSS!

skid pants

I can hardly handle all the fun I'm having this summer joining all the contests from everyone around the blog world. Have you joined any? If you have tell me about them...

I was reading Drea today and she is offering a contest for Dittany Baby its a company that is simlar to babylegs, but they have skid pants instead. The skid pants come in 2 different fabrics, a heavier cotton and a light weight material for summer. The light weight is an awesome idea because when Alanna wears her babylegs around the house, she is always hot and sweaty. No girl wants to be sweaty! My favorite style is the light weight "POSH" (scroll down to the second one) Its the cutest plaid I have ever seen. Cross your fingers and wish me luck...

The Podonbutai

I am contest crazy lately and trying so hard to win a carrier/sling for me and Alanna. Steph at Adventures in babywearing has been awesome and answered all my questions and gave me some awesome web sites to check out. I will list those in another post if you are interested. As for now there is yet another contest that I am trying to win and this one seems to be the mother of all mother contests. Its for another sling, but this one is like 3 in 1 and would save me SO much money because I could just win this and be happy, very, very happy. contest

For the past couple of weeks now Alanna has been throwing HUGE melt downs anytime we go into public. It has come to the point where I will not take both the girls in public alone. Chris would laugh at me when I came home form the grocery store almost in tears and tell me that it could not be that bad. Well this past weekend he went shopping with us and lets just say he said that we have a problem. The problem seems to be that she no longer is occupide sitting nicely in the cart while I do my business. She wants to be held. I know all you moms out there at one time or another had to push a full cart and hold a heavy toddler and it is not fun. So I thought maybe a holder or a wrap (is that what its called?) would work. Without ever trying one before I don't want to spend all that money on one so I enetered a contest over at Adventures in baby wearing, and another at the Whole Family. Do you remember back in December when I talked about the Havins Originals contest at Crazy hip blog mamas? Well I didn't win, but.......I did get 2 free t-shirts for participating. I got these 2 adorable shirts for Alanna. The first says Little Punk...her daddy picked that one and I picked the I want candy shirt below.
