It finally happened!

Last weekend I headed back to North Carolina to pick up Hannah.  Because Chris had to work, my SIL Tammy and niece Kylee came along for the long ride.

One of the things I had to look forward to on this trip (besides picking up Hannah) was I finally got to meet a long time blog friend Tana. I told her the route we were taking, and she guided me to a local McDonalds.  I kept her updated with times and where we were through the day and when we were almost there, Tana showed up.  We met in the parking lot with a big ole hug and then let the kids play on the playscape.

I enjoyed our little meet up and wished I had more time to stay.  She has a very lovable personality and I LOVE her accent.  (T, I just had to say that)  I kept having Tana say different "southern" words to hear her twang, and she in return made fun of my "northern" accent...mOm, and pOp

Alanna walked right up to Tana and held her hand into the play area and Ben made flirty eyes at her daughter.  And let me just say, Tana's daughter is beautiful....and so sweet.  The whole experience was a dream and something I will always hold dear to me.

I truely am happy that we finally got to meet and hug in person.  I always knew we would be friends if we met in person and now I know for sure she is a great person.  I am so happy we started talking through our blogs and became such good friends.

Love ya T.

The one where I talk about how busy I am, but know its all worth it in the end

I know that I am neglecting this blog here.  I have a lot going on at home.  Its big news for you, my readers and many more.  I'm not ready to share the details yet, but feel free to try to guess.
There could be a prize if you are the lucky one.

Spring break for the girls starts tomorrow.  That may or may not mean more neglect for the blog.  Depends on how tired I am.  We have something planned for everyday of spring break.  This will be the 1st spring break in 2 years we haven't went to Florida.  It makes me sad to have to wait to see my mom, step-dad, sister and my beautiful nephew Brody..But they are coming up here VERY SOON, and so our trip to Florida this year is being pushed to Christmas time!
Here is a run down on our plans for next week.  If you would like to join us, give us a call.  We always love being with our friends!

Friday- Dye Easter eggs with Sarah and do a pizza lunch, then we are heading out to some friends house for the weekend.
Saturday- Have fun playing in the 75 degree weather with lots of land for the kids to run around.
Sunday- Happy Easter (spending it with friends this year, they are just like family to us)
Monday-Picnic lunch at the park
Tuesday-The zoo, with more friends
Wednesday-Grocery shopping-have to squeeze it in there somewhere
Thursday- Lunch Bunch Playdate, and lunch with Grandma
Friday- Ice Skating
Saturday- Maybe going to Splash Universe (indoor waterpark near our home)
Sunday- RELAXING, what a busy spring break we have planned

Come join the fun

I think something is going on tomorrow? Something full of lovey dovey, red, pink and white and chocolate. MMmmm, chocolate. Do you know that they actually had a segment about Chocolate on the news today? Stop! Wait, where was I? Oh right its Valentines Day. It breaks my little valentine heart, that this is the 1st year I can't get my sweeeeet babies a little something something from mom and dad. I know its not always about material things, but I like material things, so I pout. But being as awesome as I am, instead we are having "Family Fun Friday", on Saturday, and its a Valentines Edition. We are having a special home cooked breakfast, and a yummy dinner and a movie sort of night.

Thats tomorrow....

But.....Tonight, well thats a whole nother story. Tonight is for ME, and you of course. This is a Virtual Girls Night Out (boys welcome too :-> ), a social evening without having to get out of our cozy pajamas. We are here to blog-hop and play. The Virtual GNO is a way of meeting up with bloggers you know, and make some new friends as well.

I was trying to think of a yummy drink or dinner to share with all of you, instead I want to share a yummy Apple tart dessert.
Things you will need:
1 pie crust
3 apples thinly sliced
4 oz cream cheese
cinnamon sugar
1/4 cup flour

Start by laying the pie crust at the bottom of a 8 or 9 inch pie pan. Then cover the bottom with cream cheese. Next start on the apples. Slice with peels still on thinly and toss in bowl with flour. Once coated place on top of cream cheese. Fold in sides of the crust and sprinkle top with cinnamon sugar. Bake in a 375 degree oven for about 15 minutes. Cover with foil and bake another 5 minutes.

YUMMY! M.U.S.T T.R.U.S.T M.E.

Next up on our GNO is a game.
YAY for Party Games!
No its not dance on the bar naked or anything fun like that.
Kidding, or am I? No really I am kidding.....really.
Shhh, I'm trying to explain. Now here are the rules.
Share 5 things that your heart would say in 8 spaces, or less.

"What My Heart Says" By Tasha (in no particular order)
1. Chris
2. Hannah
3. Alanna
4. Ben
5.grateful

3

Okay blog friends I feel really bad. I asked for friends to follow and I have 3. Thats it 3. I know some of you haven't added the followers button yet, but you can still follow me. Just go over to the button and click on "follow this blog" its really simple. Do I really only have 3 people who read this blog?

I will follow you

I was staring at blogger, thinking if I should write a decent post today or not, when I noticed I have 2 followers. I was trying to ignore the followers button, for some reason I have no answer to. Then I got to thinking, I want to know who reads me. So follow me, and I will follow you. Leave a comment and tell me why you like me so much, or at least why you come back day after day.

great friends

Do you see that? Someone went all the way to South Carolina and wrote my name in the sand. This someone must be something special. I personally think she is tops! She asked what I wanted and I told her I really wanted to go on vacation with her, and this was her way of bringing me there. How great is she? You should go and tell her how awesome she really is, because I don't think she realizes it..Thanks Lindsey. This just proves how awesome blogging really is, because I love you and so happy we are great friends.

On another topic. Baby is okay. Went to the dr today and he is moving like crazy..back to normal. His estimated weight is 6 lbs 5 oz...thats more than Hannah and almost as much as Alanna when they were born..I still have 3 1/2 weeks to go. She said she would not induce me if there is no medical reason still..Yay for that. I don;t go back to the dr again until Friday.

One of my favorite bloggers, Zoot just had her baby...Go say congrats!

Good News!

I am so excited. I entered this contest at Simple last week, and look what I won. I really like the chocolate and aqua dots. I'm hoping Alanna will like it too. I have tried babywearing with Alanna but I started when she was around 18 months, she didn't really like it much, she was more into running around free. With this baby I want to start early..I keep checking all these sites to pick the very best one. I just can't make up my mind which I like the best..
I have about 12 weeks left to decide.
The 7 month post will be coming tomorrow.

And some good news to share, both Kylees mom and Matthews mom started their own blogs over the weekend. Head over and share some love. They both have a few kinks to work out, but they are both fun ladies and the babies are 2 cute for words. And I am not biased at all, I swear!

Mom Select

The last couple of months I have done a few reviews for a company called BSM Media. The people over there have been great to work with and I really enjoy communicating with them. BSM Media has been working to help companies speak to moms about products and brands in a relevant manner. Maria Bailey, BSM Media's CEO and author of "Marketing to Moms," works to educate companies on the buying power of mothers, the intelligence that they apply to purchasing products and solutions they seek for their family via value, price, safety, health and enrichment.
Maria and the BSM media staff have started a new site to pull moms and companies together even more. Mom Select allows you to choose what aspects your interested in, they are fun, educational and empowering and allow you to share free samples with friends, host in home parties or review the newest products for moms. Best of all, YOU get to choose the programs! Check out Mom Select and sign up today. I already did!

New blogroll

In the past I have talked about joining giveaways for slings, carriers and all the fun stuff that goes into baby wearing. I just learned about baby wearing last summer and bought a mei tai for me and Alanna. We did enjoy it a little bit, but she was at the age were she wanted to run more than be carried. With this baby I am going to start from birth, become a baby wearing momma. I've been searching for the best sling to buy and I am really interested in the ring slings. Anyways, Steph over at Adventures in Baby wearing got this great idea to do a baby wearing blog roll. If your interested in joining just head over to here and email her once you add the cute little button Drea made.

Spreading the l~o~v~e

One of my best blogging buddies Lindsay gave me an award today. She is the most talented mommas I know. I owe my good looks (on the blog of course) to her, hehe.
Sharing and spreading the love especially on the internet is very important, I think. Too many times people will hide behind anonymous comments and really hurt people that they dont even know just because they may have wrote something they disagree with. Sharing this award is something very special. I want to share it with some people, that I feel have spread their love my way..

Aimee at A Day in the Life of (catchy title, dothca think?)

Noe at Noe's Blog ( I think she could really use this right about now!)

and last but certainly not least

Michelle at Fluttering Butterflies, she is awesome.

Nice matter

One of my BEST blogging buddies gave me this special award. I feel so honored that she would have such nice things to say about me. Some people say that the blogging world is just like high school and full of clicks, but I have never come across a person like that. Everyone that I have met, has made a special place in my heart. In return I would like to present this award to LindSEY, LindSAY, Lori, Noe, Drea, Jennefer and Melissa.

*If I missed anyone, I am sorry. I am at work posting and have a very short time to do so. So if I did in fact miss you, consider yourself an awardee of this Nice Matter's Award too.

blog land

I've found some new blog mammas lately and wanted to share with you.
The first you probably already know. She is Flip Flop Mamma. I found her through Lindsay and as I said before I love reading her stories.

Next would be Steph from Adventures of Babywearing. I found her through all the contests Flip Flop Mamma mentions on her site. Steph really has gotten me interested in baby wearing and that is why I have been trying to win a mei tai for me and Alanna. I think I might have to eventually break down and by one, but I'm still holdin out for a win some day.

Another blog I actually just found last night and I have been to her site like 80 times today, trying to catch up..She probably thinks I am a crazy stalker by now is Drea. I found her through Adventures in Baby wearing and feel instantly in love with her cute little boys. She is also a baby wearer and claims that its a hobby and she collects the slings...I like her humor.

So if you are in need of some new reads or like to visit..Let these lovely ladies know I am stalking them because I want to know everything I can about baby wearing, or just say hello.

I would like to thank the acedemy

I was nominated for an award. Someone out in blog land actually thinks that I am a Rockin Girl Blogger. Thank you Lori for the nomination.

I have been blogging for a little over a year now and this is my second award. It feels really nice to be acknowledged and read by others. Other people actually think I am intersting and come back here day in and day out...I know pretty amazing huh?

I guess the way this award works is I now have to nominate 5 other bloggers I read and love.

Michelle over at Fluttering Butterflies, because are kids are the same age and I just learned our birthdays are on the same day, which makes her Rockin!

Miss Zoot, because no matter what she writes about I still laugh everyday

Jennefer at Three Sons and a Princess because even though she is moving half way around the world with 4 kids and a husband, she still sounds sane..She's my idol!

The Guinn Triplets, because the name says it alone, and she still has time to blog

Cootie Chronicles, because Marielle is just the cutest thing ever born!

another day as me

I'm thinking about updating my blog template. Lindsay told me to check out istockphoto, but there is so many to choose. I tried to flip through it and get some ideas, but I am afraid I will choose a non cool picture and ruin the look. Lindsay is so much better at it. I'm thinking maybe a little more retro with brighter colors. Any suggestions on the look? color? shapes? words? Anything?

PS: Wanna hear what a dork I am? Last week I wrote all these great posts and saved them so all I would have to do is login and publish each one for the day...I never changed the publish dates so all the posts posted for the same day below each other.....Silly me!

May 30, 2007

please let me know...

I've been pretty spacey with my blog entries lately. With blogger messing up from my work computer, I haven't had much time to come home and blog. The weather here in Michigan has been pretty nice, you know with summer coming and all. I've been outside with the girls alot, and after they go to bed I'm so tired that when I sit down to type nothing comes out. I've figured nothing is better than rambling, yet I sit here and type about not typing...Kinda funny if you think about it.
I have noticed though that latley some of the people that used to visit haven't been so much and it makes me wonder if its because I have nothing good to say. With the wedding being over we have returned to the normal boring people that we were a year ago.
I don't blog for the traffic, but I do look forward to reading others comments. Even if its not much, its still fun. I find myself lurking on others more often than I make a comment. That leads me to a question. Do you comment often on others blog? Why lurk? I find myself lurking more because it seems that others get so many comments, would mine really make a difference. Do you blog for the traffice or the fun? Tell me....."leave a comment"
