A garden full of weeds

I am constantly writing about how time is flying by and Ben is growing so fast. What I have failed to see is how fast my girls are growing. The other day I had to head back to the dr for Hannah this time. While in the germ room, Alanna looks over to another little girl and shouts, "I know you, you go to my school" The little girls mom looks at her and asks if she knows Alanna and she does. They start to play and share even more germs. My point is not the germ sharing, but that now that Alanna is getting older she is meeting new people, and seeing them places we go. She is growing up so fast and is no longer friends with people I introduce her too, she is actually choosing for herself who is fun to play with.

Hannah on the other hand, I feel as if she became an adult over night. She is 9 going on 20 and has attitude and sassy written all over her. She loves on her brother and sister like they are her own, and if I am rocking one to sleep she is cuddling the other..She is everything I could have wished for and more. She is in the 4th grade, her hand writing is super neat, and she is doing the meap testing. She is getting A's and B's this year and is actually enjoying herself. I am having a hard time lifting her boundaries a little and realizing that she is growing up. She sits next to me in the car, and she is going to school football games with friends and their parents.

Its slowly starting to sink in that maybe one, I'm not gonna have any babies in the house. What will I blog about then?

Where have I been?

I now I've been killing you with all these review posts and nothing personal in between. I don't really know where all my time has went....oh wait yes I do. Being a mom. With the count down on for school starting I've been busy cleaning closets and drawers finding what fit and doesn't. Bagging up all the clothes that don't fit..selling, swapping, and donating them, and then making lists of what all 3 kids need and then trying to find bargains on everything. Yup that sounds about right. For 2 weeks now I have been doing this and almost everything is bought with a small exception of a winter coat for Hannah..Alanna will you an almost new one from Hannah, and I got Ben a coat at Once Upon a Child for $7 and it looks practically brand new. Ben needs some pjs and momma needs a new new pair of tennis shoes, but that will come in time....other than that school clothes for both girls, winter clothes for Ben, new socks for everyone and new underwear for me and Chris..(too much?) book bags, new shoes and new pens and pencils are all lying around the house ready to be packed away.

Wait....What was that? School clothes for both girls? Why, yes! Alanna is starting preschool on Tuesday. Its a bitter sweet moment, one that I have put off until last week, when both her teachers came to the house to say hello. Alanna did the home base preschool program last year, and I highly recommend it to anyone who has it offered in their area. It was one of the greatest programs ever and her teacher made all that possible. (Did I mention we seen her at the fair this year? We did and she is great, and I miss her) anyways, Alanna will be going to school from 830-12 Monday-Thursday. While I am so happy she is getting back into the routine, I am sad to see her go. What will I do with my mornings with only 1 child? Oh right, reality kicks in and I will have plenty to do, LOL.
This time last summer, I feel bad saying this, but I could not wait for school to start. I had a newborn and was sleep deprived, and cranky 24/7. This summer however I LOVED. We camped, we played at parks, we did summer camp, we did vacations up north, and visited our friends in Hillsdale several times. I am sad to see the summer ending, but looking forward to next summer already when Alanna and Hannah will be 1 year older and Ben will be almost 2. What fun we will have then...
We are heading out again this weekend to spend with our good friends Mike and Jess out in Hillsdale, one last fun vacay before school starts on Tuesday. Don't forget the zhu zhu pets giveaway, I will extend the giveaway until Monday and the winner will be announced on Tuesday after the girls get on their school buses :(

So much to say

I have so much to catch up on, its sad. I started reading a new series. The True Blood Series my Charlene Harris. They aren't as good as Twilight, but after reading Stephanie Meyers I don;t think anyone could write as well as she does. The books have me hooked and I am already on book 3, waiting ion book 4, 5, and 6 from the library. Thats my excuse for not being around. I haven't even left the house to mail her this, but luckily she is a patient person and I PROMISE I will do it tomorrow (Thursday) I actually have to leave the house to buy food if we want to eat so I will head to the post office then. Again I am so sorry for being a lazy, procrastinating, no good blogger and giveaway hostess.

Another reason for the lack of blogging is that we went away last weekend. We went to our good friends Mike and Jessica's for the weekend. Remember? They live about 2 hours away. Not to far to drive for the weekend, but far enough away to be considered "getting away". As usual we had a great time and Mike and Jess are the best host and hostess out there. They are kind, and loving and patient and YES, FUN! I think we might be heading there again soon, and I cannot wait. Home away from home!
Sunday we all headed to the beach. A small beach not to far from Mike and Jessica's house, called Sandy Beach. Ben LOVED the water this time, and did not want to leave. Hannah and Alanna enjoyed the sand and the sun just as much. I didn't get many pictures, we are borrowing a camera from Chris' brother and wife and the memory card wasn't in all the way so some pics are on our memory card (the ones you see on top) and some are on the ca,era, but we don;t have all the plugs to get them off the camera. So trust in me, when I say we had fun and hopefully we will be investing in a new camera SOON! I feel like I am missing out on so much not being able to take pictures.

In other news, Hannah has about 4 weeks until school starts. We have a very busy August ahead of us.
This week is the county fair, and Chris' step sister baby shower and also a Welcome Baby Joshua/house warming party on Saturday.
Next week I HOPE to get in touch with THIS LADY AND BABY because I have yet to hold this beautiful little boy and its driving me crazy!
The week after that the kids and I are going up north with my dad to his cabin for a week, the day I come back is Chris' birthday and I think we might be going camping with some friends. The weekend after that is labor day weekend and then school starts.
WOW, what a month.

July 1, 2009

I know Its been away since I had a "real post". It not like I have nothing to write about, I have stuff, I've just been to lazy to actually sit down and type it all out. So this is short and sweet and to the point. For pictures check out here.

~I have the giveaway. Scroll down to check it out, it ends tonight, and the winner will be announced tomorrow..hopefully, maybe Friday. No No No I promised on Thursday so tomorrow it will be.

~Last Saturday was Chris' nephew graduation party. It took us 2 hours to get there. We had a great time. I love spending time with Chris' family. He has a big family and they are loud and fun and great We always have a great time together. I just wish we all could get together more often.

Also Saturday morning Alanna got a new friend. Baby Dino, Baby Dinosaurs BIG brother arrived via the mail man. She loves him, but I did hear her telling Baby Dino she still missed Baby Dinosaur. However Baby Dino has not left her arms once in the last 5 days. Not once, he even sat in the toilet while she took a bath.

~Saturday night Hannah stayed the night with Chris' stepsister and her daughter Hannah 2 (thats what we call her). They went to Chris' stepbrother Troy's house. He has a HUGE horse farm, The girls got to feed the animals, and ride in the golf cart. The next morning my Hannah even got to ride a horse. (AND I WAS NOT THERE TO GET A PICTURE), She loved, and I'm talking LOVED it. Troy even "gave" Hannah a horse, her name is Minnie. Its the best kind of horse because she has claim to it, yet we don't have to pay anything...LOL.

~Sunday me and Angie (see above) took Hannah 1, Hannah 2, and Alanna roller skating. It was rough. Neither Hannah got a lot of sleep the night before and was crabby to say the least. Open skate was from 2-4:30 and if you know Alanna her nap is from 1-3, so it was certainly rough on her. She forgot how to skate and was throwing tantrum after tantrum for the 1st hour. Then she was having fun and it was time to leave. Meanwhile Ben and Chris were at home and Ben was NOT happy mommy was not there so Ben decided to torture daddy with no nap either, what in the end it was torture mommy because daddy got called into work as soon as me and the girls got home..FUN...

~Monday Hannah was still crabby and cried all the way to library camp because a) her best friend Julia wasn't going to be there that day, and b) because I said I MIGHT, MIGHT, MIGHT go to Florida in July or August to see my new baby nephew who isn't here yet but should be any day now. I said me, because I can only afford 1 ticket right now and the girls would stay home with Chris, but Ben would come with me. I had to hear how I was ruining her life because she wouldn't be able to see her grandma the greatest person in the world and she would have to stay with Chris, the not so greatest person in the world when grandma is involved (LOL). I also had to hear how I never did anything with her and it was always about me and she never has any fun EVER in her sad little 9 year old life. I was angry, but let her vent because, yes I enjoy ruining her life.

~Tuesday was a little better, we DID NOTHING. At least I enjoyed the day...the kids not so much, but it was chilly and I was tired so Yay for being the mom

~Today...well, today has been uneventful in everyway possible. The end.

Also Lindsey is like 5 or 6 days over due with her sweet baby boy. Head on over to her and give her some luvin, because I SOOOO know what it feels like to be prego in the Michigan summer and it SUCKS! Love ya Linds

The crazy life

I am so busy this week. I can't believe that we are leaving for Florida in just a few days. I'm already missing Chris. Not really, but I thought it was a nice thing to say :) Chris and I have been apart only 1 other time since we have been together and that was before Alanna was born, when my dad and step mom took me to Vegas for my birthday. I was gone about a week and talked to Chris everyday about 10 times a day. This time I don't know if we will be able to talk as much, these kids have been keeping me pretty busy. If its not Hannah complaining about something its Alanna wanting to do something she is not supposed to be and if its not her then is definitely Ben who is getting into something or crawling up the stairs.

It seems like a crazy house, but I love it. I love how my house is never quiet and never a dull moment going on. I love how when one child is hurt the others rush to them, I love the hugs, the kisses and the crazy. I wouldn't have it any other way. Well with all this babbling you would think I have nothing to do. MUST.PACK..

Belly shot

Yes that is a childs belly. Yes it is my childs belly. Yes I know its the worlds cutest belly. Yes that is a tattoo on her belly. The tattoo is one we paid $.50 for at the grocery store. But why is it on her belly your wondering. Good question. This tattoo was so big it did not fit on her arm like she really wanted. The only place big enough for this tattoo was her belly, or her back and I wasn't going there :) Why would someone make a tattoo so big that the kids would never be able to put it on their tiny arms. Who ever made this was not a parent. But its a cute excuse to chomp-chomp on that cute belly.

Updates are good

Today we were back at the dr office with Alanna. Her ear is still draining and its really gross. The dr said she was okay and her ears are no longer red or infected, just the remaining fluid leaking out. I have to continue her on her ear drops and see what happens in a week. While there I had her check Ben too. Hes good. That means no follow up appointment on Monday, praise the lord. I was starting to think we may never get away from the dr office.

Went to play group today. Met a mommy with a 8 month old little boy. Ben really liked poking the kid in the eye, which I guess in baby means he really likes him. She also has an 8 year old little boy. Now I just need to find someone to play with Alanna and all the kids are covered. Computer still won;t accept my camera. Chris is still working on that and the million other things I have listed for him, so soon...I hope. My camera is almost full.

March 6, 2009

no title

Got a full nights sleep last night. Woke up feeling better.

Alanna's ear isn't draining anymore, and Ben is back to giggleing over everything.

The computer still will not allow the camera to put pictures on it, so we are still working on that.

Oh, and I got a baby invitation in the mail today, CAN'T WAIT.

March 4, 2009

Bullets

I would have liked to have the pictures from Disney on ice up already, but for some reason the lap top has stopped accepting the camera and we are having major problems. I'm going to try to sum everything that has been happening in this one blog so watch carefully.

  • We went to Disney Fantasy on ice, it was AWESOME. Some of the best money ever spent. We seen Lion King, Cars, Little Mermaid, and Tinkerbell and her Fairy Friends. Alanna danced to the music and was so entertained. We all had a great family day.
  • Chris and I finally had a night out Saturday night. Our friend turned 30. This may seem young to some, however this is a major breaking part in my life, meaning I am almost 30 myself if my friends are turning 30 and most days I still feel like a child playing house.
  • Monday morning Alanna woke up crying she had an earache. I turn on the light and her ear is totally grossed out and covered in ear fluid, blood and puss. This is a "tubes" ear infection and they are horrible.
  • Went to the dr on Monday morning and Alanna is soaking a cotton ball every 30 minutes, I will spare you the grossness.
  • Tuesday morning Hannah woke up with an earache. Returned to the dr again..Made them check Ben as well. He is fine.
  • Hannah is okay too...no infection. Thank you!
  • I have a massive head cold. I can't breathe because my nose is stuffed, but it won't stop leaking..How is that possible?
  • We are going away for the weekend. Can't wait. We are going to our friends house we were supposed to visit for superbowl, but didn't make it. Its like a mini vacation..

That seems to sum up the week so far. I am really sleepy and lazy and this post took a lot out of me, I'm going to nap since the 2 little kids are sleeping. Night!

March 3, 2009

My head hurts

I'm so swamped over here. Alanna has an ear infection, Hannah is not being the happiest person in the world, and Ben is STILL teething. I have a cold and I just want to crawl in a dark hole for the rest of the week. On top of that I have a parent meeting Friday with preschool, and Hannah has a report due Monday and we are supposed to be going away this weekend, with the kids to a friends house....Oh is this week over yet????

February 26, 2009

A little bit of Thursday random

I've been here. Being sick lasted longer than I thought it would. I don't think it was the flu. I think I had food poisoning. Why do I think that? Well we went to dinner on Friday to a Chinese buffet. No one else had what I had, I got sick. I was sick for 5 days, during those 5 days, no one else got sick. I'm feeling a little better, no one else is sick. Yup does not sound like the flu. In our house the flu is very catchy since we all think its okay to love and hug and kiss on each other, and no one likes to clean up except mom, oh and Hannah and Alanna like to share things. Like drinks, suckers, and beds. Like I said very catchy if the flu hits our house.

So give me a couple of days to get pictures on the computer and get caught up. The girls got haircuts, Alanna's is short, not too short but cute...Hannah got a trim. I broke the toilet today, and Saturday we are taking the girls to Disney Fantasy on ice..CAN.NOT.WAIT! Then Saturday night Chris and I are actually going to hang out..together...outside the house....with other adults....and no kids...I know right, awesome! So lots to talk about soon.

February 21, 2009

how about you?

My "WTF" moments for the weekend.

~A commercial to a plastic surgeon here in Michigan is offering B1G1 free. Hows that to boost your sales?

~An internet phone company is offering free "mail" to cell phones if you are unreachable on your internet phone. Umm, if you were unreachable on your home home, wouldn't someone just call you on your cell, and whats worse, doesn't cell phones already have voicemail or text services? Why would said company say they offer it free, if you already have it?

~Why does my mom get to go to the beach today and I am stuck in 3 inches of snow? It makes no sense to me.

Do you have any "WTF" moments you are wondering about? I would love to hear them.

February 20, 2009

I'm beat

The sun has been shining here in good ole Michigan. Its put me in a pretty good mood the last couple of days. It makes me want to clean too. Being couped up in the many months of winter, we have really built up some clutter. Today while Ben took his morning nap and Alanna was at preschool, I decided to tackle a few projects.

Hopefully I will be able to keep this up as the days start to get warmer and by summer I can relax, maybe.

~so far 4 loads of laundry

~Clean sheets for everyone

~Cleaned out all the paperwork on the counters and computer desk and organized important papers

~dusted

~vacuumed

~organized the cooking pots cupboard

~swept and mopped

~and washed bottles

Next on the list

organize the rest of the kitchen cupboards

organize the toys

paint my bedroom and bathroom

paint our foyer

Whew, now its the afternoon and both little kids are sleeping, and its my nap time too.

Have a happy weekend.

books 101

Okay I figured its time I start to realize that there are other books out there besides vampires and wizards with dark lords. I try to get to the library every other week to get us out of the house, and always leave empty handed or with a book I have already read, because I fear the unknown books. I love to read, but lately I just don't know what to read. So I am hoping some of you can help me. In order to help, I figured you need to know a little bit about my reading likes and dislikes.
~When I was younger VC Andrews was my favorite. I have almost read everything she wrote.
~I'm NOT into mysteries, or freaky things. I am a scardy cat to the MAX.
~I don't need any mushy gushy lovey dovey stuff either.
~I read the entire Twilight series 3 times in a month span.
~I read Harry Potter year 1-7, twice
~I'm not afraid to embrace my inner teen and would read YA books...see bullet #4.
~I am up for true life, fiction, fantasy, but not sci-fi so much.

Okay I hope that helps, so have at it. I need some new books to broaden my thinking.

January 16, 2009

Brrrrrrrrrr

Theres no school today due to the extremely frigid weather. Theres also no school on Monday for MLK Jr. day. I think I'm gonna cuddle up with a book and relax since I won't be taking the kids out anywhere, anytime soon.

PS..I just wanted to let everyone know I have been by your blogs lately to check out whats been going on..Its just really hard to comment when you have a squirmy, cranky 5 month old in your arms for all hours of the day due to the evil awful teeth that are playing hide and seek right now. As soon as the little bugger shows himself, I will be back to commenting...PROMISE!

September 15, 2008

random

Today will be random blog day since I don;t have enough to say about 1 topic

~We got washed out of our plans for the weekend. We were supposed to go to the zoo but with the after affects of all the hurricanes it rained all weekend. We plan on trying again this Saturday.

~Alanna is potty trained. I am confident enough to leave the house without an extra outfit every time, therefore I classify this as DONE! Now we are working on nap time and bedtime, but I am not as worried about those as daytime.

~Ben is sleeping around 8-9 hours at night. I have not needed a nap at all last week. Once I was up and downed about 5-6 cups of coffee I have been up to stay.

~Oh yeah, I have become a major coffee drinker in the past week. Before I thought I was young enough to not need coffee, and now I have come to realize after marriage and 3 kids, I'm not that young anymore.

~I am having such a problem with Hannah and her attitude. I actually broke down and cried the other night because she acts like she hates me so much and she is only 8. I am so afraid I will have one of those kids at the age of 13 who is featured on a talk show yelling how I messed up her life. I am at a loss with what to do.

~I have officially resigned from work today. I can now say out loud that I am living my dream job as a stay at home mom to my kiddies. YAY!

~Don;t forget I am still open for suggestions on the vlogging. An introduction will be coming this week.

September 9, 2008

playing catch up

Well I feel like a big blog loser...I got 1 comment for the books...Okay Lori you get it..Just for being great I will send you 2 books for your kids...And Lindsey, for being an awesome teacher, I know you would love 2 books too, so I will send that. Lori please email me your address..I forgot and threw away the envelope with it on there. Thanks. I still have 1 book if anyone is interested..Just let me know.

On to other news...I am so freaking tired. Someone please tell me when a child will sleep 12 hours? I guess I don't have much grounds to complain...Ben sleeps 8 hours and wakes up around 4Am to eat and falls back asleep for another 4 hours, but the wake up in the middle of the night is so harsh. And now with school back in I am up at 6:30 with Hannah, Alanna is up at 7 and Ben at 8..The day begins and I don't get a second to sit down until nap at 1:00.
Here is a look into a Day in the life of Tasha.

6:30 wake up
7:00 Alanna wakes up
7:15 Hannah leaves for school
7:30 breakfast for Alanna and a pumping session
8:00 Ben is up
8:15 feed Ben
9:00 Get Ben dressed and ready for the day
9:30 Ben is sleeping, Get Alanna dressed and ready
10:00 maybe a shower
11:00 Ben is up, we all play or sit and watch Alanna play, hehe
12:00 Alanna lunch, feed Ben
12:00 pump
1:00 Alanna nap, Ben maybe naps
3:00 Alanna up, we play
4:00 Feed Ben
4:20 Hannah is home
4:30 start dinner, get homework done
5:00-5:30 dinner, clean up
6:00 feed Ben, pump
7:00 Alanna bath
7:30 Ben bath
8:00 Hannah bath, feed Ben AGAIN
8:30 Alanna bed
9:00 Hannah bed
9:15 Maybe Ben is in bed by now
9:30 clean up house, pump
10:00 Bed
4AM Feed Ben
6:30 start all over AGAIN

And this is if we have nothing planned for the day. There is sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, laundry, cleaning toys, appointments, and play dates. Geez I was less busy when I worked all week. But ya know? I would not trade this time with the kids for nothing. I really do enjoy being home with them...This time I have spent with them has been the happiest times. Really makes me feel bad that I complain about being tired.

Potty training is going great. Alanna has been going on the potty and hardly any accidents to mention. I am so proud of her..Now if I can just get her to stop putting the entire roll of toilet paper in the toilet and flushing 8 times and over flowing the toilet all over the bathroom floor I would be even happier. (yup it happens about once a day). She seems to do it when I am feeding Ben or pumping. Of course she is a smart girl because she knows I can;t get up easy when doing either of these tasks.

April 25, 2008

hair today, could be gone tomorrow

I've been letting my hair grow for the last couple of years and the last time it was cut was before my wedding almost exactly 1 year ago today. It is in some desperate need of TLC. I'm not sure if I want to continue with the long hair, get it trimmed or cut shorter. So I turn to you...What do you think should be done with my hair? here is a recent picture of my hair...its really long.

January 3, 2008

a bunch of random put together and called a post.

I know that I've been pretty sporadic with posting but at least I have a valid excuse. At least I think its a valid excuse...I'm tired. I know I complain alot about it...but man I so forgot how tired pregnancy can make you...I am so happy I am prego, but hopefully when I hit 12 weeks, I will become full of energy again...

Anyways on to better posting. I am very excited about the holidays being over, anyone else? We took the Christmas tree down last weekend, and I finally feel like I have my house back. I love having the tree up but we put the tree up after Thanksgiving and take it down after new years...thats a long time to have the house disorganized for one item...it drives me crazy

This Saturday Hannah is having 2 of her baby teeth pulled. She has some over crowding going on and the dentist feels its a good thing to try and help her out...I feel bad for her but the dentist says it shouldn't be too bad for her.

January 1, 2008

This is really long, don't say you weren't warned.

I know I have been totally MIA for a couple of days, maybe even a week. With the flu, Christmas, trying to make up Christmas with family, working, being pregnant and then New Years I have been extremely tired and overwhelmed. Last week I had a mini breakdown. I was so over being sick from the flu and being pregnant and tired that I broke down crying. I left work and came home and slept for hours. When I woke up I called the doctor and they told me to take some vitamin B6 to help with the tiredness and nausea. Well you know what, it worked. Not that I doubted the doctor, but I did wonder how one little vitamin would help me feel better and it did. I have been able to get back to semi normalness lately and its been really nice.

The couple of days after Christmas I worked and cleaned..thats about it. Over the weekend we had to make up Christmas with family we cancelled on. It was nice. We had my brother, his girlfriend, Kylee, my 2 step sisters, my uncle and my little cousin over for some Christmas pizza. It was so nice seeing everyone. One of my sisters is away at college 4 hours away, so we don't see each other often. That night we left the guys with the kids and us sisters went to the movies. We seen National Treasure 2. It wasn't as good as the 1st, but I really enjoyed it. The next couple of days we just hung out, and rested. New Years eve, I babysat and Kylee stayed the night. I figured since I can't even make it past 10 pm om a normal night, what fun would I be going out trying to ring in the new year. Chris, I and all 3 girls had a nice quiet night at home. Our friends Jon and Lane came over and Lanes son who is around Alanna's age, and we basically were couch potatoes and watched movies all night. It was FUN!

I have to go back to work tomorrow and hopefully get things back to normal. Being off is so nice, but a nice routine is always good too.

Normally on New Years I do not do a resolution, because by the 5th, I have usually forgotten it or broken it and it never really pans out for me. I seen this on another site and even though this post is pretty long, thought I would share anyways.
