B.L.T. Pizza

Lets take a minute, so I can tell you about this amazing dinner I made TWICE this week. Normally I don't ever make a meal twice in one week, but it was requested by my husband, and I did not argue.

B.L.T Pizza

The items you will need:

head of lettuce

1 tomato

1 package of bacon

mayo

shredded mozzarella cheese

store bought pizza dough

I shredded up about half of the lettuce, chopped up one tomato, cooked the whole package of bacon, then cut into bite sizes and maybe 1-2 tablespoons of mayo.

Cook the dough as directed, but don't put anything on it...cook it plain. Once it cooled spread some mayo on. Keep it thin, you don't want to bite into the pizza and get a glob of mayo in your mouth. Then cover with lettuce, tomato, bacon and cheese. (cheese is optional, I like cheese on my BLT's so I thought the mozzarella would be good)

Then its ready. Its so delicious!

The kids won't even try it, Hannah is not a fan of mayo and Alanna wants to be like Hannah, but trust me, its so good. I really like it for left overs. Once its been in the fridge and its nice and cold, its so good. I am naturally a lover of cold pizza in the mornings, so this is prefect. Chris and I have been fighting over who gets the last piece, its that good. He even called me this morning from work to tell me he is thinking about the pizza and wants some as soon as he gets home tonight. So try it, and let me know what you think, I know you won't be disappointed.

I had a point

Ben is up before the girls every morning. This gives us a lot of one on one time. There is no TV and no distractions. I lay on the floor and he crawls all over me. He giggles. It comes from the belly. The deep belly laughs you get from babies...they are the best!

I've been trying to spend a lot of one on one time with each child lately. I can really tell a difference in the way they act through out the day if we miss our time. Ben usually gets the morning for about 2 hours. Once I lay Ben down for his morning nap, then I try to spend time with Alanna. We play with the little people, or we lay on the couch and watch a movie. She also likes to sit on my lap and watch cartoons on the computer. Something where its just us. Then afternoon comes and both the kids take naps and its me and Hannah. I really see a difference in Hannah's attitude when we have our one on one time. She is sweet and not sassy.

Tonight we are going to pick up my little cousin for a few days. He is 4 months older than Hannah. They play really well together. He and his dad live about 30-40 minutes away near the border of Michigan/Ohio. We don't see them much, so its always a treat. During the days he is here we will swim and play and have lots of fun. I love summer vacation.

bits

Things that are on my mind lately:

~I have been so busy the last couple of days getting ready for my mom to visit. I want to have all the normal weekend cleaning of the house done so I have all the time to spend with her.
~Today I did 3 loads of laundry, swept and mopped all the tile floors and vacuumed all the carpets. Tomorrow I am going grocery shopping, and 3 more loads of laundry. Then hopefully everything will be done by Saturday morning.
~Hannah has her 1st soccer game on Saturday and she is extremely nervous. She is afraid her team will lose. [Enter win or lose its how you play the game speech here] and she seemed to be okay with that.
~Lately Alanna has been giving me hell about going to bed. She is scared of everything. She has never been scared and lately that all she talks about. When I ask her what she is afraid of she says she doesn't know. I'm not sure how to handle her getting out of bed. Her and Hannah share a room and it keeps Hannah up way later that she needs to be.
~Chris and I have talked about me staying home since I got pregnant with Ben..He was the one who seemed to want it the most. Me being home with the kids and not having them with a babysitter. Now he is so stressed out about working that his attitude and the way he is at home stinks(Just to put it nicely), and it makes me wonder if he is upset that I am home now. It seems like everything I do, I do it wrong, and his being unhappy makes me sad. I know he is stressed, but I don't know how to help and he won't talk to me about it.
~I have never really talked about my marriage on this blog before and it makes me nervous to wonder what people may think.

random

Today will be random blog day since I don;t have enough to say about 1 topic

~We got washed out of our plans for the weekend. We were supposed to go to the zoo but with the after affects of all the hurricanes it rained all weekend. We plan on trying again this Saturday.

~Alanna is potty trained. I am confident enough to leave the house without an extra outfit every time, therefore I classify this as DONE! Now we are working on nap time and bedtime, but I am not as worried about those as daytime.

~Ben is sleeping around 8-9 hours at night. I have not needed a nap at all last week. Once I was up and downed about 5-6 cups of coffee I have been up to stay.

~Oh yeah, I have become a major coffee drinker in the past week. Before I thought I was young enough to not need coffee, and now I have come to realize after marriage and 3 kids, I'm not that young anymore.

~I am having such a problem with Hannah and her attitude. I actually broke down and cried the other night because she acts like she hates me so much and she is only 8. I am so afraid I will have one of those kids at the age of 13 who is featured on a talk show yelling how I messed up her life. I am at a loss with what to do.

~I have officially resigned from work today. I can now say out loud that I am living my dream job as a stay at home mom to my kiddies. YAY!

~Don;t forget I am still open for suggestions on the vlogging. An introduction will be coming this week.

playing catch up

Well I feel like a big blog loser...I got 1 comment for the books...Okay Lori you get it..Just for being great I will send you 2 books for your kids...And Lindsey, for being an awesome teacher, I know you would love 2 books too, so I will send that. Lori please email me your address..I forgot and threw away the envelope with it on there. Thanks. I still have 1 book if anyone is interested..Just let me know.

On to other news...I am so freaking tired. Someone please tell me when a child will sleep 12 hours? I guess I don't have much grounds to complain...Ben sleeps 8 hours and wakes up around 4Am to eat and falls back asleep for another 4 hours, but the wake up in the middle of the night is so harsh. And now with school back in I am up at 6:30 with Hannah, Alanna is up at 7 and Ben at 8..The day begins and I don't get a second to sit down until nap at 1:00.
Here is a look into a Day in the life of Tasha.

6:30 wake up
7:00 Alanna wakes up
7:15 Hannah leaves for school
7:30 breakfast for Alanna and a pumping session
8:00 Ben is up
8:15 feed Ben
9:00 Get Ben dressed and ready for the day
9:30 Ben is sleeping, Get Alanna dressed and ready
10:00 maybe a shower
11:00 Ben is up, we all play or sit and watch Alanna play, hehe
12:00 Alanna lunch, feed Ben
12:00 pump
1:00 Alanna nap, Ben maybe naps
3:00 Alanna up, we play
4:00 Feed Ben
4:20 Hannah is home
4:30 start dinner, get homework done
5:00-5:30 dinner, clean up
6:00 feed Ben, pump
7:00 Alanna bath
7:30 Ben bath
8:00 Hannah bath, feed Ben AGAIN
8:30 Alanna bed
9:00 Hannah bed
9:15 Maybe Ben is in bed by now
9:30 clean up house, pump
10:00 Bed
4AM Feed Ben
6:30 start all over AGAIN

And this is if we have nothing planned for the day. There is sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, laundry, cleaning toys, appointments, and play dates. Geez I was less busy when I worked all week. But ya know? I would not trade this time with the kids for nothing. I really do enjoy being home with them...This time I have spent with them has been the happiest times. Really makes me feel bad that I complain about being tired.

Potty training is going great. Alanna has been going on the potty and hardly any accidents to mention. I am so proud of her..Now if I can just get her to stop putting the entire roll of toilet paper in the toilet and flushing 8 times and over flowing the toilet all over the bathroom floor I would be even happier. (yup it happens about once a day). She seems to do it when I am feeding Ben or pumping. Of course she is a smart girl because she knows I can;t get up easy when doing either of these tasks.

random thinkings

~I feel sad, I usually get about 10 emails or more a day and I have not gotten one today. Can I get some love people?

~I was thinking about redoing my site design AGAIN. I know it was just done, but I get bored. I rearrange my house like this too. Any suggestions?

~I didn't get my buyout, I can't wait until maternity leave kicks in

~How much more cooler weather can one person handle? For gosh sakes its the middle of April and Lindsey's wedding is in 2 weeks, and she needs green grass and sunshine, along with birds chirping and flowers growing for her great day. Lets get it going mother nature!

~My 1 year anniversary is in 12 days. I still love my husband :)

~So much has happend in the last 2 years. I gave birth to Alanna, bought a house, got married, drove to Florida, and got pregnant again..Life is good right now.

No English teachers allowed.

Okay I need to just get this out here!
My mother, who reads my blog, but never comments, has made it apparent that she does not think my writing reflects how educated I am. This is not an English class assignment, nor am I writing an English book. I am merely documenting my life, thoughts and pictures of my family. I blog for fun, not a grade, and I earn no money what so ever for my writings. I do not normally re-read my posts, and very rarely can I get spell check to work. Also spell checker only checks the spelling and not all grammar mistakes. Please know that I do have a college education, NOT in English or spelling, but in Science. I am not a redneck, and apologize to all that are, but these were the words of my dear, lovely mother said to me this past Sunday. Also I believe rednecks are beautiful and love they way you talk, most of the time.
I am not mad at my mom for pointing my flaws to me, I am merely letting everyone know that just because I have a spelling error here or a grammar mistake there, I am a smart and intelligent woman. My mom seems to feel because I make these errors, it makes me look bad and people may not respect what I am writing. Please forgive me if I make an error and still remember that I am me, and not perfect, nor do I ever want to try to be...that's way to much work for me. I am however lazy, and will not re-read a post just to check for mistakes, I only re-read to make sure I am not repeating myself a million and one times. Whew, that feels better.

Nothing a little disclaimer that can clean up your blog...Love ya MOM!

March 12, 2008

a whole lot of random, with very little to say

~I got my camera yesterday. I am extremely impressed with Best Buy.com. I ordered my camera Saturday afternoon and it took less than 2 business days for me to get it. My camera is cute, and I cannot wait to learn how to use it. I never realized how much learning it takes to use a camera, I am used to point and shoot, but with this camera there are so many awesome functions I want to be able to use it to its fullest potential. Hopefully by this weekend we will have awesome pictures to share.

~I've been feeling the baby move more and more. I am so loving being pregnant right now, minus the measuring big issue. :)

~Last night Hannah pulled out the game operation and her, me and Alanna sat for 2 hours playing this game. It was one of the most fun times I have spent with my girls in a while. Even though Alanna didn't fully understand, she really enjoyed making the game vibrate and the light, light up.

~What did you think about American Idol last night? Even though they are saying this is the most talented season, I'm not really impressed.

~Someone charged an amount on an old check card..Very scary. Luckily my bank is awesome and with no questions asked removed the charge and corrected the account so no more charges could be made.

~My check engine light came on this morning. Well its the new and improved malfunction light. Meaning anything under the hood could be malfunctioning, however according to the owners manual if it goes away, then everything is okay, and we the manufacturer just like to scare you while driving in heavy traffic on the exact day you forget your cell phone on the kitchen table, but if it starts blinking at you hit the eject your seat button right away because your car is about to blow. But in the meantime we are confident everything is okay...Stupid owners manual and malfunction light...I don't like either of you.

~This is the longest morning I have ever experienced..

~Over here, I posted, what I thought an extremely funny post and didn't get one response. What to you think, funny or what the hell was she thinking, she should be band from being a mom?

Polly Tod

The peoples over at Polly Tod are doing this neat free shirt givaway. And with baby #3 on the way I need to be as thrifty as I can be. I had never heard of Polly Tod before so I was checking out the great website they have. They have a really awesome collection of cool baby clothes. I found a lot of shirts I want to buy if this baby is a boy..Check it out.
This is the motorcycle skulls shirt. I am in some dire need to buy boy clothes, so if in deed this baby is a boy, he better watch out, he'll have more clothes than the girls combined.
This is another one of my favs. This is the ampped shirt. Chris used to be in a local band, and somewhere down the line I fell in love with the music, so I love all the music related shirts.
But I can't forget about my girls and I really like this one for Alanna. Soon you'll see her sportin a great vintage looking heavy Petal shirt...Cute huh?

freaky

Michigan is full of surprises. Escpecially the weather. One day it could be 80 and the next 32 and snowing. Many times I have had the air and the heat on in the same week. Shorts and a winter coat also in the same week...Last weekend we got dumped on by snow, I think in some places it was up to a foot. This morning it was another strange weather condition...Fog and snow. I have never seen fog and snow together before. it was really freaky. The ground was white and so was the air...it was really hard to see driving this morning. In some spots the fog was hanging right above my car and then the snow was on the ground...it looked right out of a sci fi movie or something.

Hows that for not talking about the pregnancy...

July 26, 2007

I felt like I should post something today even though I don't have much to say.
Thanks for the encouragement of the weight loss. I was hestitant because what if I didn't follow through with it, and then I would feel like I failed. I am for the first time in my life ready for this challenge and I hope I have the power to stay with it.

I'm in the process of working with Lindsay from splat designs for a new template..Stay tuned it should be awesome!

wedding countdown: 45 days

Lately I have been wondering what happened. It seems all of a sudden I have nothing to say. I think about a post and then I forget and when I actually sit down to write, I am blank. The wedding has ben my life lately. Trying to tie up loose ends and figure who needs to be paid next and what needs to be done the next weekend. The list of buys is down to only a few items.
1. Chris' ring
2. Chris' groomsmen gifts
(seeing a trend here? )
3. My maids gift
4. Candy for the wedding favors
5. My veil, I know I already got one, but I decided I don;t really like it. the netting is kinda thick and it doesn't sit on my head like I want it to. I have left a message for the store to see if I can return it and so far I have not heard form them. I'm crossing my fingers.
So thats about it..I know we are doing pretty good huh? if chris doesn't get a move on for his groomsmen gifts they will not be getting one. he wanted to get these really neat pocket watches on ebay, but we only have 7 weeks and with shipping anf handleing, I'm not so sure we will get them in time. Chris likes to procrastinate...just a little.

This may be a boring post but it gives an update. It seems the bloggong world has been pretty busy lately. I know I haven't even been by to visit, for that I am sorry. I will make up for it soon...I promise.

March 2, 2007

random things

About a month ago I was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal. Here is a link to the story. It was about live blogging. Remember the post I did on New Years? Notice the picture of Hannah sleeping on the side. Pretty cool huh? Can you handle that I am so famous? (kidding)

Check out this really cute bag I just bought. I was reading faded youth about Brittney Spears shopping there and checked out the site and found the bag for $13.00... I'm a sucker for bags.

So what do you think? Lindsay spiced up the page just a bit, and I, yes me added a new picture. Do you like the small changes? I do.

My wedding shower is on Sunday....I am so excited.

Guess who got a speeding ticket about a week ago...No NOT me, guess again.....YUP Chris. Isn't that great? As if my ticket wasn't enough he had to go and get one too.

February 19, 2007

weekend review

I am slowly dealing with my ticket...The courthouse is closed today so I still don't know how much I owe, so that is killing me with suspense.

Chris had our 1st session of pre marital counseling. It went fine. he basically went over what we will be covering in the next 5 sessions. I will keep you posted. The nest session is this Saturday.

Nanny C came over to play with the girls last night. I asked her to come over last night so the girls could get familar with her. Hannah is pretty easy, I am more worried about Alanna adjusting to a new person. last night she seemed fine. She would wave and smile and take her some toys. Nanny C stayed about an hour and I think it went pretty well. She will come over again on Saturday before she starts on Monday. Nanny C seemed a little less nervous yesterday...she actually would start a conversation. I really like her and happy she accepted the job. i hope she stays around for a while.

So did you all hear about the infamous hair cut that happened over the weekend? That poor girl...I really think she needs some help. Happy to hear her momma flew in to see/help her.

I had a night out with the girls on Saturday night. it was Sarah, my maid of honors birthday. She picked a bar and we all met up there. It was fun we played pool, darts and just hung out with each other. its nice too get out. Some new pics up here...go check it out. Plus there are some cute, cute pics of Alanna. She crawled into one of Hannah's doll strollers and thought it was the funniest thing ever.

February 16, 2007

super trooper

Do you ever have one of those moments you want to cry? I'm having one. I got my first speeding ticket today and the cop was really rude about it. I have never had a ticket before and I'm having a hard time dealing with it...I know its not THAT big a deal..But its my first. I just want to hide under the covers in bed and cry.....

Another thing I'm mad about is I have to pay. As if I am not putting enough money out for the wedding, now I have to pay for the ticket too. So if you want to donate to the speeding ticket for dummies fund..let me know and we can work something out. Thanks :)

On a brighter note, the sink is fixed. Chris's plumber friend came over and unclogged the sink. Come to find out it was not frozen, just clogged with a big clog of clog sorts. It was gross, no pictures available...you can thank me later for what I saw and you didn't.
