The strange thing about having pregnancy induced hypertension (high blood pressure) is that you feel normal, you look normal and if you didn't have your doctors constant nagging for you to take it easy, you would probably forget that you have an actual diagnosis. Well in my case, I forgot. An guess what I got for forgetting?
Friday I had my weekly dr visit. It started off normal. I did the weight thing (13lbs. and only 8 weeks to go, YAY me!) and the urine thing (it was normal) and the blood pressure thing (not so normal). I went into my room, got hooked up to the monitor (2 straps around my belly, one for the contractions, and one for the heart beat. Then every time the baby moves you click a button). No contractions (yet), and a good heat beat (thank god), and plenty of movement (yay).
About 20 minutes later my dr comes in and says right off the bat "You look tired". I do not take offense to this, because my dr has been my dr for almost 10 years, she was my mothers dr, several close friends dr, and their mothers dr, she has this sweet quality about her, that even when she states the obvious, shes so nice about it. I respond with a yes, I am tired...as I am thinking in my head you try having 2 kids, a full time job, a husband and being pregnant in 90 degree weather..You would look tired too. She looks at the info coming from the monitor and shakes her head. She then looks at me, and down to my ankles, and feet. Back up to me. She smiles and looks in the chart. The room is silent, which is odd for her office and I just stare at her facial expressions. Her eyebrows raise up and down, up and down. She looks back at me, back at my file. "So she says, Hannah is out of school for the summer?" "Yes, today was her last day." I reply. "Hmmmm", she replies. "How would you like to be home for the summer? I need you to take it easy", she says. "I would love to be home for the summer, what are you saying?" I'm saying, that I am requesting you on medical leave effective today, and you must promise to take it easy or you will end up on bed rest." I let the info soak in for a minute. This is getting serious..I still have 2 months, that's 8 weeks to go. I have joked I would love to be off for the summer, but never actually thought this early. I nod... I ask for a couple of days to work to tie of lose ends...She says only if I take it easy.
I leave her office in a daze, I'm nervous to be off of work this early and nervous for my baby, but excited to start this new adventure of being a stay at home mom, at least for the summer and a few months after that.

Chris and I live in a manufactured home, aka mobile home, aka trailer. They have actually come along way since the beginning, and if I may so so myself, ours is quite nice. It has an open layout and its really big. We have 3 nice size bedrooms, a family room, living room, dining room, 2 bathrooms, and a laundry room. Here are some pictures from when we first moved in.
(That background is important for what I am about to tell you.)
For about the last week, week and a half there has been a faint foul odor in the house. At first maybe we thought there was a milk sippy cup forgotten somewhere, or maybe a dirty diaper escaped our views..but then we started to smell it outside, our minds started to change. The smell would shift throughout the house too. One day it would be in the second bathroom, the next in the living room, but it never completely went away. When the heat came on it became stronger, which made Chris think that something was in the furnace. The smell began to get worse and worse as the days went on and yesterday it was really bad, this motivated by husband to began his search of the source of this terrible smell. Each person who smelled it described it a different way, I said, stale blood, Chris said dead, just dead, and a friend said maybe a dead mouse. Sorry if those descriptive words are a bit graphic, but this is nothing compared to what happened next.
Last night a friend came over to visit and Chris nominated him to help in the search. They were on the roof checking the fireplace vents, and the furnace vents to make sure they were animal free. Next Chris was checking the outside of the house, and the furnace. Finally he checked under our house where all the pipes and wires are. Now I had been begging him to please check under the house for the last 3 hours during daylight, but he would not listen. Finally he checked under the house and when he returned from outside he was white and shaky. He told us we needed to come outside because something big just happened. He would not say at first. We went out back and looked under the house and there about 5 feet in, right under the laundry room was a 25-30 pound raccoon, hanging on my dryer vent next to our hot water line, dead. The smell was incredible. The stench was 100 times worse than what was being brought in the house. Right away the gag reflexes started and I could not handle it anymore. I had to go back in the house.
Cutting to the end, Chris wrapped his face in a pillow case, that he sprayed with my perfume to distract from the foul smell, and 3 grocery bags on each hand to protect from the disease ridden animal, he marched outside. he crawled under the house and pulled out the animal. It was decomposing already and the fur was falling off. Maggots started to fall out of the body. Chris could barely hang on to the tail as he put the animal in a garbage bag. The stench in the house is still there, hopefully soon it will linger away...But for now this is my story that I had to share.
I have pictures, is that to graphic? If you want to see them, leave me a comment or email me, and I will send them personally to you to view.

Day 27, the cat and the tree
Over the weekend we pulled out the Christmas decorations. We have a fake tree, I think its great. We keep it in this big bag called a tree keeper. Its supposed to be water proof, but I think they lied.
Over the summer our cat got locked in the shed for a couple of days, by mistake, don't worry, we rescued him and he was fine..he was only in there for maybe a day or so. Anyways he peed while in the shed and it just happened to be on the Christmas tree bag. This is why I think they lied. The entire bag smelled of THAT smell. We kept it outside a couple of days and it rained and washed the pee off, so we thought it would be fine to bring in the house and set up the tree. Sunday I set the tree up. It smells....like pee, like cat pee.
Chris and I just bought this tree a couple of years ago..It wasn't overly expensive, but it was our tree together...So I left it and hoped the smell would go away...I sprayed fabreeze ALL over the tree...lights too, and when it dried I sprayed it again. The next day I had our baby sitter come sniff around..She doesn't smell anything. The test will be when my mom gets her on Thursday...I'll have her smell around too. Then maybe we'll decorate, we'll see
Did you read that? Up above, it said my momma is coming hom in 2 days....whew who!

Please help
*I talk about a lot on this site, but there are some things that I don't mention. This would usually be one of the topics I stray form however I am cought between a rock and a hard place and REALLY need some advice. So even if you read this site all the time and never comment, I am pleading with you to do so on this post.*
Here are some back facts first:
~I have a step mom. She has been my step mom for over 17 years. Shes the only woman I remember in my dads life, including my mom.
~I am helping plan my brothers and his girlfriend baby shower
~Last June my cousin was married and a fight broke out that included several poeple of the family..The major issue is between my step mom and dad vs my aunt, and older sister.
Okay onto the problem. My step mom told me that if my Aunt was invited to the babyshower she was not coming..She would send a gift, but did not even want to chance it that she may or may not show up. Well, my brother thought that was bull shit netiher one of us are taking sides and not playing favorites. So an invitation was snet out to both my stepmom and my Aunt. I have not told my step mom that my Aunt was invited because, again I am not playing favorites and I STRONGLY feel that they should set their differences aside for one afternoon and both come. (Even though my Aunt is not very close to my brother and I, and I doubt she will come, but its the point of the whole thing). Past Christmas' if there have been family differences, my stepmom would always complain that family can set aside the differences for one evening, and I think this is the same situation. So anyways yesterday my stepmom came to me and told me that she really needs to know if my Aunt was invited because she heard some stuff and REALLy is not coming if she was invited. I continued on with my playing stupid and told her I had no clue, who my brother and his girlfirend invited. This morning I talked with my brothers girlfriend, and she said that she knows for a fact that if my stepmom doesn't come to the shower that my brother would never forgive her because for starters she has been in my brothers life since he was in diapers and also because my mom is in Florida it would be very nice to at least have my stepmom there. Also again she is putting my brother and I in the middle of their arguement and that is not about to happen. So thats pretty much the story, give or take a few minor things.
My question is this...
(a)Should I speak directly with my stepmom and tell her how furious my brother and I would be with her if she did not come to the shower?
(b)Should I call my dad to see if he knows about any of this and tell him how furious my brother and I would be if my stepmom doesn't show?
(c)Should my brother and I be so furious if my stepmom doesn't show, since it is only a babyshower, even though my dad and stepmom have been active in both my babyshowers with the girls?
(d)Call my Aunt to ask her views on the whole thing?
(e)Let it go and if she comes she comes?
Please help me, the shower is next Sunday. Thanks.

hives
Yesterday around 3:30 the babysitter called me at work to tell me that when Alanna woke up she had a red rash on her stomach, and wanted to let me know she would watch it until I got home. By the time I got home a couple of hours later the rash had spread to the Alanna's back, face, arms and legs. I called her doctor, who is normally really great, but the girl said she could get us in next Wednesday. There was no way I was waiting until next Wednesday, so Chris and I took Alanna to an urgent care near by. Alanna was diagnosed with hives. The Dr said it was something she ate. I have no idea what she could have eaten in the last 24 hours that was any different from any other day. We called the babysitter and she told us everything Alanna ate and she has had all the food SEVERAL times before. The Dr gave Alanna some medicine and we left. When she woke up this morning all the hives were gone.
She gave us a big scare, I'm just so happy she is okay. Now we have to monitor everything Alanna eats to make sure she doesn't break out again.

Thanks for the help
What happen to people being out there just to help?
I must have ran over a nail or something because when I came out of work today I had a flat tire...I work at a corporate building and drove my car around to the security booth and asked if there was a place near by I could get some air. I work in the city and really only know my way to and from work which is usually a 35-40 minute drive. My tire was dead flat. Well the guard told me there wasn't really anywhere near there to get air. I asked if he could help change my tire. He told me he was handicapped and went back in the booth. I pulled my car back into a parking spot and called my dad, who lives about 15 minutes away.
My dad has had 2 knee replacement surgeries so no way did I expect him to come, but I asked what I should do because 4 men and 8 women have already walked by and looked at my tire and kept going. I didn't really want to call Chris because he works midnights and was sleeping. My dad said to call my companies security desk (its located in the building) to see if they could offer any assistance. I called the supervisor in that dept and he said that its not in the job description and its strictly on a volunteer bases. No one volunteered.
Finally I had no other choice and I called Chris. Of course he was sleeping and just hearing his voice I started to cry. At this point almost everyone has left and seen me standing outside my car with a flat tire and not one person asked if I needed anything. Chris said he would get out of bed and come help..At this time I am really balling my eyes out because A.) I felt bad for waking him up, B.) Not one person offered to help, and C.) I would have to wait an hour before he could get there with the rush hour traffic and all.
Well the Security guard must have seen me crying because he came over and asked if I had anyone coming to help. I told him my husband but it would be at least an hour. So he said he would see what he could do. I gave him my car manual (because I have never had a flat tire in this car before and didn't even know where the spare tire was, go figure). He locate the jack but we couldn't get it out so he went to his car and got the tire iron and the jack and started changing the tire. I called Chris back and told him to not come because the security guard was finally helping me out. An hour later the spare tire was on and I was heading home..
I just don't understand what is up with the world and the people living in it. I counted a final total of 22 people walking out of the building while I was standing there and not one of them asked if I needed help. I actually had people stop and watch the security guard help me and then say "You should have AAA". Well obviously I don't and thanks for the tip, Asshole!
Its a sad day when you realize that you are on your own if anything bad ever happened.
I did however fall a little bit more in love with my hubby tonight. This was our first "I need you to come rescue me" moment and he was ready to come as fast as lightening. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside and I want to smother him in some kisses.

super trooper
Do you ever have one of those moments you want to cry? I'm having one. I got my first speeding ticket today and the cop was really rude about it. I have never had a ticket before and I'm having a hard time dealing with it...I know its not THAT big a deal..But its my first. I just want to hide under the covers in bed and cry.....
Another thing I'm mad about is I have to pay. As if I am not putting enough money out for the wedding, now I have to pay for the ticket too. So if you want to donate to the speeding ticket for dummies fund..let me know and we can work something out. Thanks :)
On a brighter note, the sink is fixed. Chris's plumber friend came over and unclogged the sink. Come to find out it was not frozen, just clogged with a big clog of clog sorts. It was gross, no pictures available...you can thank me later for what I saw and you didn't.

I made a new years resolution and I already forgot about it. I wanted to stop being so uptight and not yell so much. I yelled and I was uptight. I'm gonna keep at it and maybe one day, some day soon I will get better control of my temper. Keep me on schedule would ya? thanks. Did everyone have a happy new year? Mine is going good. I have been working the late shift at work 10:00-6:00, well I just got a new shift and its 9:00-5:00. I am so excited. It starts in 2 weeks.
I did the live blogging on new years eve and had a lot of problems with uploading pictures to blogger. I just recently went to beta. Anyone out there having problems with uplaoding pics? If you have any advice please help me~
