My head hurts

I'm so swamped over here. Alanna has an ear infection, Hannah is not being the happiest person in the world, and Ben is STILL teething. I have a cold and I just want to crawl in a dark hole for the rest of the week. On top of that I have a parent meeting Friday with preschool, and Hannah has a report due Monday and we are supposed to be going away this weekend, with the kids to a friends house....Oh is this week over yet????

how about you?

My "WTF" moments for the weekend.

~A commercial to a plastic surgeon here in Michigan is offering B1G1 free. Hows that to boost your sales?

~An internet phone company is offering free "mail" to cell phones if you are unreachable on your internet phone. Umm, if you were unreachable on your home home, wouldn't someone just call you on your cell, and whats worse, doesn't cell phones already have voicemail or text services? Why would said company say they offer it free, if you already have it?

~Why does my mom get to go to the beach today and I am stuck in 3 inches of snow? It makes no sense to me.

Do you have any "WTF" moments you are wondering about? I would love to hear them.

the blues

Well day 2 of bed rest has brought on the blues. I think I'm starting to feel sorry for myself, because I can't do anything myself. I can't even fix dinner or give Alanna a bath..that was our time, you know. I know this is safety for my unborn baby and in the long run it will all be okay, I'm just not having a good day. I've been extremely tired today and took 2 naps, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Now its almost dinner time and I am seriously ready for bed. I go for a dr visit tomorrow and an ultrasound, hopefully I will have good news to report and that my blood pressure is down.

I have some pictures to upload soon, but I have to 1st be allowed on the house computer and right now all I can use is the lap top, and its Chris' work computer, so pictures coming soon, hopefully. Hannah took some cute ones of Alanna and my belly.

out of curiosity?

"Hypothetically speaking" have you ever had a day, that was 25 degrees colder than it was the day before and you wake up freezing and late, then you have a fight with your normally awesome husband and the more you think about it the more mad you become because you really have no idea what just happened, and you can't call him to talk to him because normally awesome husband works midnights so he is sleeping and you would disturb him and make him even more cranky if you called him just to talk things out, so you agonize over it all day and feel sick to your stomach and also on the same said day, your work rolls out a new program live on a very busy day after a holiday weekend and it has several kinks and they take you off line for an hour to fix the kinks and then it still has kinks and you can't do your job and people are getting frustrated with you like you are the problem because human error is always over a stupid computer error, and also for kicks, say you are about 30 weeks pregnant and your child is sitting so far down in your pelvic area you feel like you are sitting on his head and if you wanted you could reach down and brush his hair, if he has any...And also lets say its very uncomfortable to sit and when you stand its also uncomfortable so you just deal with it, but can't complain because you love this child and your coworkers have already heard 100 other complaints and one more may drive them over the edge, and speaking of coworkers, the one coworker you probably see every day for the last SEVEN AND A HALF MONTHS, comes to you and asks if you are pregnant, because all of a sudden you look pregnant but she didn't want to say anything in case you just gained a lot of weight and didn't want to hurt your feelings, but now she doesn't care if she hurts your feelings because SHE.MUST.KNOW.NOW if you are expecting. You tell her no and watch her eyes get real big and she starts to stutter and says something like I am so sorry and then you say something along the lines of NOT and walk away. Have you ever had a day like that? No, oh...me neither, I was just wondering.

Chris and I live in a manufactured home, aka mobile home, aka trailer. They have actually come along way since the beginning, and if I may so so myself, ours is quite nice. It has an open layout and its really big. We have 3 nice size bedrooms, a family room, living room, dining room, 2 bathrooms, and a laundry room. Here are some pictures from when we first moved in.
(That background is important for what I am about to tell you.)

For about the last week, week and a half there has been a faint foul odor in the house. At first maybe we thought there was a milk sippy cup forgotten somewhere, or maybe a dirty diaper escaped our views..but then we started to smell it outside, our minds started to change. The smell would shift throughout the house too. One day it would be in the second bathroom, the next in the living room, but it never completely went away. When the heat came on it became stronger, which made Chris think that something was in the furnace. The smell began to get worse and worse as the days went on and yesterday it was really bad, this motivated by husband to began his search of the source of this terrible smell. Each person who smelled it described it a different way, I said, stale blood, Chris said dead, just dead, and a friend said maybe a dead mouse. Sorry if those descriptive words are a bit graphic, but this is nothing compared to what happened next.
Last night a friend came over to visit and Chris nominated him to help in the search. They were on the roof checking the fireplace vents, and the furnace vents to make sure they were animal free. Next Chris was checking the outside of the house, and the furnace. Finally he checked under our house where all the pipes and wires are. Now I had been begging him to please check under the house for the last 3 hours during daylight, but he would not listen. Finally he checked under the house and when he returned from outside he was white and shaky. He told us we needed to come outside because something big just happened. He would not say at first. We went out back and looked under the house and there about 5 feet in, right under the laundry room was a 25-30 pound raccoon, hanging on my dryer vent next to our hot water line, dead. The smell was incredible. The stench was 100 times worse than what was being brought in the house. Right away the gag reflexes started and I could not handle it anymore. I had to go back in the house.
Cutting to the end, Chris wrapped his face in a pillow case, that he sprayed with my perfume to distract from the foul smell, and 3 grocery bags on each hand to protect from the disease ridden animal, he marched outside. he crawled under the house and pulled out the animal. It was decomposing already and the fur was falling off. Maggots started to fall out of the body. Chris could barely hang on to the tail as he put the animal in a garbage bag. The stench in the house is still there, hopefully soon it will linger away...But for now this is my story that I had to share.

I have pictures, is that to graphic? If you want to see them, leave me a comment or email me, and I will send them personally to you to view.

Day 27, the cat and the tree

Over the weekend we pulled out the Christmas decorations. We have a fake tree, I think its great. We keep it in this big bag called a tree keeper. Its supposed to be water proof, but I think they lied.
Over the summer our cat got locked in the shed for a couple of days, by mistake, don't worry, we rescued him and he was fine..he was only in there for maybe a day or so. Anyways he peed while in the shed and it just happened to be on the Christmas tree bag. This is why I think they lied. The entire bag smelled of THAT smell. We kept it outside a couple of days and it rained and washed the pee off, so we thought it would be fine to bring in the house and set up the tree. Sunday I set the tree up. It smells....like pee, like cat pee.
Chris and I just bought this tree a couple of years ago..It wasn't overly expensive, but it was our tree together...So I left it and hoped the smell would go away...I sprayed fabreeze ALL over the tree...lights too, and when it dried I sprayed it again. The next day I had our baby sitter come sniff around..She doesn't smell anything. The test will be when my mom gets her on Thursday...I'll have her smell around too. Then maybe we'll decorate, we'll see

Did you read that? Up above, it said my momma is coming hom in 2 days....whew who!

Please help

*I talk about a lot on this site, but there are some things that I don't mention. This would usually be one of the topics I stray form however I am cought between a rock and a hard place and REALLY need some advice. So even if you read this site all the time and never comment, I am pleading with you to do so on this post.*

Here are some back facts first:
~I have a step mom. She has been my step mom for over 17 years. Shes the only woman I remember in my dads life, including my mom.
~I am helping plan my brothers and his girlfriend baby shower
~Last June my cousin was married and a fight broke out that included several poeple of the family..The major issue is between my step mom and dad vs my aunt, and older sister.

Okay onto the problem. My step mom told me that if my Aunt was invited to the babyshower she was not coming..She would send a gift, but did not even want to chance it that she may or may not show up. Well, my brother thought that was bull shit netiher one of us are taking sides and not playing favorites. So an invitation was snet out to both my stepmom and my Aunt. I have not told my step mom that my Aunt was invited because, again I am not playing favorites and I STRONGLY feel that they should set their differences aside for one afternoon and both come. (Even though my Aunt is not very close to my brother and I, and I doubt she will come, but its the point of the whole thing). Past Christmas' if there have been family differences, my stepmom would always complain that family can set aside the differences for one evening, and I think this is the same situation. So anyways yesterday my stepmom came to me and told me that she really needs to know if my Aunt was invited because she heard some stuff and REALLy is not coming if she was invited. I continued on with my playing stupid and told her I had no clue, who my brother and his girlfirend invited. This morning I talked with my brothers girlfriend, and she said that she knows for a fact that if my stepmom doesn't come to the shower that my brother would never forgive her because for starters she has been in my brothers life since he was in diapers and also because my mom is in Florida it would be very nice to at least have my stepmom there. Also again she is putting my brother and I in the middle of their arguement and that is not about to happen. So thats pretty much the story, give or take a few minor things.
My question is this...
(a)Should I speak directly with my stepmom and tell her how furious my brother and I would be with her if she did not come to the shower?
(b)Should I call my dad to see if he knows about any of this and tell him how furious my brother and I would be if my stepmom doesn't show?
(c)Should my brother and I be so furious if my stepmom doesn't show, since it is only a babyshower, even though my dad and stepmom have been active in both my babyshowers with the girls?
(d)Call my Aunt to ask her views on the whole thing?
(e)Let it go and if she comes she comes?

Please help me, the shower is next Sunday. Thanks.

Do you want my leg too?

Well I went and got a new tire today..Actually Chris has been bugging me to put 2 new front tires on my car since before the wedding so I got 2 new tires today. I hate the way I think about it but geez what a waste of money....I mean why do tires have to be so expensive. I could name 100 other things I would rather spend money on..But I guess in the long run its a safety concern and I paid for the safety of my family.

wedding countdown: 45 days

Lately I have been wondering what happened. It seems all of a sudden I have nothing to say. I think about a post and then I forget and when I actually sit down to write, I am blank. The wedding has ben my life lately. Trying to tie up loose ends and figure who needs to be paid next and what needs to be done the next weekend. The list of buys is down to only a few items.
1. Chris' ring
2. Chris' groomsmen gifts
(seeing a trend here? )
3. My maids gift
4. Candy for the wedding favors
5. My veil, I know I already got one, but I decided I don;t really like it. the netting is kinda thick and it doesn't sit on my head like I want it to. I have left a message for the store to see if I can return it and so far I have not heard form them. I'm crossing my fingers.
So thats about it..I know we are doing pretty good huh? if chris doesn't get a move on for his groomsmen gifts they will not be getting one. he wanted to get these really neat pocket watches on ebay, but we only have 7 weeks and with shipping anf handleing, I'm not so sure we will get them in time. Chris likes to procrastinate...just a little.

This may be a boring post but it gives an update. It seems the bloggong world has been pretty busy lately. I know I haven't even been by to visit, for that I am sorry. I will make up for it soon...I promise.

sharing is hard

Does anyone else have to fight for computer time in their house? I constantly have to fight for time. As you all know Chris works midnights and has to do some work from home first and then he goes to work. Normally his time on the computer starts around 9:00, and he is on there until he leaves for work around 10:30-11:00. I usually don't like to get on the computer until both girls are in bed...which Alanna is in bed at 7:30-8:00 and Hannah is in bed at 8:30 on weekdays and 9:00 on weekends. Then before Chris is on the computer Hannah likes to get on there. For Christmas she got these stuffed animals called webkinz. They are real stuffed animals that have a code and you go online to the webkinz website and input the code. You then adopt the pet for 1 year. During that time you pick a name, build a house and buy stuff for it and you also have to keep the pet fed, exercised and in good health. Hannah got like 4 of them for Christmas and she likes to go online and update her pets everyday or so. If I want to be on the computer at all I have to wait my turn, (patiently inorder to set a good example for Hannah) and use it well after my bedtime. At work, I use a computer daily but I cannot always read blogs and write a post. I normally check my emails and read a few here and there, but I never get any work done when I do that. Does anyone else have this problem..am I the only one who has a "tech" family that is on the computer more than we watch TV?

super trooper

Do you ever have one of those moments you want to cry? I'm having one. I got my first speeding ticket today and the cop was really rude about it. I have never had a ticket before and I'm having a hard time dealing with it...I know its not THAT big a deal..But its my first. I just want to hide under the covers in bed and cry.....

Another thing I'm mad about is I have to pay. As if I am not putting enough money out for the wedding, now I have to pay for the ticket too. So if you want to donate to the speeding ticket for dummies fund..let me know and we can work something out. Thanks :)

On a brighter note, the sink is fixed. Chris's plumber friend came over and unclogged the sink. Come to find out it was not frozen, just clogged with a big clog of clog sorts. It was gross, no pictures available...you can thank me later for what I saw and you didn't.

Friday roundup

This week has been pretty busy for me. Well not exactly busy just filled with stuff that I havn't been able to write about. I decided to do a weekly roundup to share some exciting things. It could just possible contain every detail about Wednesday, and not the whole week.....

1. It took me an 1 hour and 45 mintues to get home from work Tuesday night. Usually the ride total is 45-50 minutes, once I get to daycare and pick the girls up and get home.

2. I had a snow day on Wednesday. it was nice because it was valentines Day and I could spend it with my loving family. Except, my family wasn't so lovely.

3. Chris did not work Tuesday night because of reason #1. he did try to stay on his midnight shift and stay up all night. the girls woke him up in the morning getting me out of bed...Reason #1 he became crabby

4. I was rinsing the breakfast dishes and the sink began to back up with nasty. Reason #1 I became crabby

5. Because we got several inches of snow, Chris's brother said he would come over and snow blow our driveway and walk. My car got stuck while trying to move it and needed help getting it out. Reason#2 I became crabby

6. While I was outside moving the cars, Alanna escaped the living room gate and was crying by our bedroom door for daddy. Reason#2 he was crabby

7. I came into the house and chris was up so I decided to tell him about the sink...Reason#3 he was crabby

8. Chris has a friend who is a plumber, so he calls him and he tells Chris what to do. It does not work...reason he was crabby#4

9. Chris calls his stepdad and he tells Chris what to do, and we are still waiting to see if it works. See the problem with the sink is it either got partially frozen or there is something REALLY bog and gross blocking the water from going down. Chris put these acid tablets down the pipe to try to get it to "eat" away what ever it there.

10. I didn't have a kitchen sink all day, reason crabby# 3 for me.

11. Chris and I never exchange gifts. I am a really good gift giver for the kids, but when it comes to Chris and I, I lack. Therefore he gets off the hook and so do I. Because of the sink, I don't even think we said Happy V -Day until like 4:00 in the afternoon.

12. Because of the whole sink issue, Chris was up for over 24 hours and still went to work on Wednesday night....reason he was crabby #5 What a trooper.

13. I missed American Idol Wednesday night because I fell asleep on the couch with Hannah at 8:30....reason I was crabby #4 I woke up at 11:00 and put her to bed.

nanny hell

Who knew that an interview could be so hard. I think there is a hidden camera here and any minute the candid camera crew is gonna jump out and yell 'gotch ya'. These people are unbelievable. I know everyone has seen Mrs Doubtfire...kinda like that but in real life. These are real life, I am not kidding about any of this...please read on.

  • The first lady gave the answer, "what ever you want"for everything. Which this is the right answer but give me some of your personality please.....No stories, no personality, nothing but "what ever you want is what I will do"..NEXT
  • The next girl only said "I don't know" to everything which is even worse. We asked questions like "how would you entertain the girls?" "I don't know", "What is the worse emergency situation you have had while babysitting?" "I don't know" At one point Chris asked if she just wanted the job until something better came along and she said, wait for it.....YES!~ OK NEXT
  • The next lady was nice, she had great personality, told stories, was super sweet, and looked professional. Until we asked if she has ever been arrested.....She said yes. She went into this story about her ex husband and the kids and custody and grabbing of the throat...then she says she doesn't even have custody of her own 2 kids..her ex is in jail and his parents have the kids...NEXT.. NOW!
  • Then we had a no show
  • Another no show
  • Then a woman brought her 9 year old daughter with her on the interview. All she had to say was that her husband doesn't really like her to work outside of the home and wanted her home before 4:30 to cook dinner...She even asked Chris if he would be willing to wake up everyday at 4:00 so she could go home...OKAY lady, I can't even wake Chris up to eat dinner with the family and you want him up at 4:00...NEXT
  • Then the 2ND no show called 4 hours after her interview time and said she lost track of time. Her interview was at 1:30, and she called at 4:30, I wanted to ask her if she was smokin crack and she is sober now, but I told her thanks but no thanks.

My god, can I get a decent person? We had such an over whelming response to the ad, and this is what I get. We have 6 interviews Saturday and 5 more on Sunday...Hopefully at least one person will be a match. If not another ad will be ran next week. I am not settling at ALL. Oh did I tell you about the professional nanny that called and wanted $15 an hour, per child....I told her if I was paying her that much I wouldn't be working. Thats more money than I make. If I could be a nanny for $15 an hour per child I would not be working where I do now....give me a break.

What would you do?

I'm still on chapter 2 in the 1st counseling book. I am having major complications with forcing myself to read something. I stll have not recieved the other 2 books needed to start. Would it be horrible of me to call and cancel on the pastor. He is my dads cousin so he is family and that makes me feel bad. I found another person that my mom knows to marry us. There is no 1972 books involved, just the leagality of the marriage. That is what Chris and I was looking for in the 1st place, but could not find a couple of months ago. Now I feel bad. The pastor is very into his religion which is not a bad thing, however Chris and I have different views. We don't go to church, even though both would like too, we just haven't found what we are looking for. We both believe in God, just we have not figured out what type of God or religion is best for us. Should I suck it up and read or break it off?

Hannah asked a question God the other day. I'm having a really hard time answering it. She asked "If God made us, who made God?" Ummm good question ask go ask Chris.

I don't know what has come over me. I used to be able to just break it off with people and have no bad feelings, but lately this is not happening. A certain person in the family that has been giveing me problems, wants to bring some food to my wedding shower that does'texactly fit into the "brunch" theme. How do I tell her thanks but no thanks we have all the food thats needed. She claims she may noit like any of the food and if she brings somehting she will at least know she likes that.... how do I say stop being difficult please this is MY wedding without hurtung her feelings?

Are any of you tired of hearing about the wedding yet? Are you tired of the stress, the ranting about family members, I kinda am so its okay if you are too. Its not as bad as it seems. I am having fun planning stuff and getting everything ready. I am really excited for the day I can't wait. Last time I checked there are 93 days until the wedding.....

January 5, 2007

The one where I rant on about family

The wedding count down is in 4 months. Can you believe it? During the holidays I put the wedding off, so I could concentrate of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New years. Well now that they are over I am starting to stress a liitle. The wedding shower is in 2 months, my bachlorette party is in 3 months and then the wedding. there is so much that I have to do, but don't know where to start. I still need to pick out flowers, buy shower and wedding invits, find a person to alter mine and Hannah's dress, find a pattern for Alanna's dress, register for the shower, buy shoes for us girls, buy a veil, get Chris is tux, help my maids get their dresses, and complete the guest list. And I know for a fact that I have forgotten some other things.

I'm starting to get really flustered with whats going on. My maid of honor has came up with a great idea for the wedding shower. She is planning a "french bistro" themed brunch. She is going to make all the food and decorate. She is great. A few un-named people in my life have expressed their views on my shower to be a little un nice. The menu for the party will be a french toast bake, an egg and potato bake, muffins, danishes, friut, hashbrowns, cake, eclairs and cookies, punch, coffee and water. I have checked with everyone for allergies, likes and dislikes. With a total of 40 or so people coming it is hard to please everyone. This said person has stated she will not eat any of the food and I should have differnt food and a different time on a different day....oh and lets just change the entire thing while we are at it. The whole point is to try something new and different. A nice brunch for the people that I love to buy me things for my house and marriage....right? (I know I sound spoiled and ungrateful in that line, but that pretty much sums up what a shower is, right?) Everyone tells me to do things the way I want because HELLO I am the one getting married. She had her time 16 years ago. But its hard, and its hard to please everyone and now I know for sure that a few people will be unhappy, and now I'm not so sure what to do. when I told said person about the time and day, she had the nerve to say...you know people may not come because its early. Its at 11:30, if someone cannot drag their lazy ass out of bed to come to the shower one day, then they obviously the whole wedding doesn't mean that much to them, and that is fine they don't need to be there. I wish I could just tell her not to come if she feels that way. She has given me negativity from the beginning. She is the one who said I should be married, she is the one who said I should plan longer, she is the one who said that I should have the wedding closer to her, she is the one who said I need to have different food. Can I catch a break? Can I just have a step mom that is happy for me?
