baby no name no more

I haven't talked much about baby boy lately. I thought today would be a good day. Notice how I called him baby boy and not baby no name. Yup thats right baby boy now has an official name. I hounded and hounded Chris and finally at our anniversary diner we decided on a name that is perfect for our family. We are still thinking about keeping it a secret. Select few family members do know. Because HEllO I had to have my moms approval and if she knew, Chris' mom had to know. Then Hannah let it slip to my sister so she knows and then my SIL had to know because she writes the BEST poems and she will be giving one to this baby and needed the top secret info..But thats it I swear..No more, well Lindsey when you come over I do accept bribes, mostly with food...

I also forgot to talk about our anniversary. My sister took the girls for the night. Chris and I mostly hung out and cleaned the shed out. How exciting are we? not much fun can be done when your bloated and tired and that was just Chris, hehe..
We went to dinner at Olive Garden and stuffed our faces.. It was sort of funny though because as we were waiting for our food Chris and I both commented on how quiet it was without the girls..Crazy us we finally get away for one night and we talk about how lonely without the kids we are...So romantic. Overall though it was a great anniversary and I can;t wait to spend 50 more years with my husband.

the computer wars

Did I tell you how I I messed up our home computer Sunday night? Oh, I didn't, please let me. Enjoy the story below.

Sunday I was uploading my pictures to flickr, and blogger. Since it was taking forever I decided to open another screen and read some blogs. Then another screen popped up and I wasn't paying attention and I hit something I wasn't supposed to. But in my defense it was annoying me and I just wanted it to go away. After a few more minutes there were like 5 more screens that were opening. I kept closing and closing and closing them but more kept coming up. I yelled to Chris, that this darn computer is making me mad and he ignored me and continued watching his movie.
Finally I had had enough of the pop ups and was done blogging so I started to turn the computer off, when I noticed my desk top was gone. Where is my pink screen?, I asked out loud and that got Chris' attention. He jumped off the couch and came to the computer room to see what was happening.
5 minutes later:
rant, rant, complain, complain, blah, blah, is what I heard from Chris.
10 minutes later:
OMG Tasha you should pay more attention, I can't blah, blah, blah, was the next sentence
25 minutes later:
I should just teach you a lesson and not fix this, and pictures, blah, blah
1 hour later
{insert bad language here}
about 2 hours later:
{insert more bad language and a temper tantrum}
The next day:
{more bad language}, followed by I have to do a back up disk of the pictures and videos and then clear the entire computer and restart all the programs
Another day later:
Okay, I'm sure you get the point my now, I totally screwed up the computer, as to where I can't even get on it to check email right now. Chris is so mad at me. He is very good with computers and used to own his own business to fix them, but he doesn't really enjoy fixing them, hence, no more business.

So we are without a computer right now...thank god for work computers, hehe.

How I love thee, let me count the ways

Today I would like to spot light my husband.
Hehe, I still love saying the word husband.
~Now before I get started let me start by saying just because your husband is the knight in shining armor and he may make theses points look like nothing, I am very happy with my husband and he makes me smile everyday.~
Chris has really stepped up'd to the husband plate the last couple of days. here are a few examples of why I am falling in love all over again.
  • Chris surprised me at work on valentines day with a teddy bear, balloon, candy and even a card...awwww how sweet.
  • He is way more involved with this pregnancy. Alanna was his 1st and even though he was excited, Chris and I were not in the best place in our relationship and it was rocky for a while. This time around we are a happily married couple and really enjoying our family.
  • Saturday night I lost my phone in Chris' brothers car. His brother lives about an hour and a half away..Chris drove all the way out there to get my phone with NO complaints.
  • Friday my car started to overheat on the way home from work. A family friend came to look at it Sunday, all the auto parts stores were closed..I was advised NOT to drive my car..(the thermostat was shot), Chris drove me way out of his way to take me to work and then went to work himself...NO complaints...he also picked me up way earlier than he would have gotten off of work himself, again no complaint
  • The same family friend fixed my car Monday night however he was late coming over..Chris started to go online to see how to become Mr mechanic fix it in about 5 minutes, when said family friend showed up and saved the day.

These are just some of the things, my hubby has done, to make my days seem brighter. I am not a needy woman, the smallest things in life make me happy. Thanks honey, I Love You.

Gotta love pink and red

Happy Valentines day to all.

The girls got their little bag of goodies this morning. Hannah got some pink jelly shoes, some V day undies, pink nail polish and a lip gloss ring, Alanna got a new "big girl" sippy cup, 2 miniture puppy dogs (stuffed of course), pink sunglasses, and some new hair ties..Both the girls were in pink and red heaven this morning.
I would show you some pictures, except we still don't have a camera. After we bought the digital camcorder Chris sold our old camera and I hate the pictures the camcorder takes, so for now we are on picture hold..But don't worry hopegully REAL soon I will be getting a new one.

Reason #456, 879 I love blogging. When reading a post and with one sentence she can bring you to tears. If you read her you will know what I mean. Check out Amy and wish her a congrats.

UPDATE: I just got a call from our security desk downstairs at work..They told me to come to the lobby...GUESS WHO WAS THERE?! My Hubby with a teddybear, heart balloon, candy and a card...he actually wrote in the card and it made me cry..How sweet is he??!! I love my husband, he did good today!

Another baby in the house

Chris and I are both sick. We have colds, maybe some sinus issues, but for the most part your standard, I don't feel well, I want to crawl in bed and cover my head cold. Coincedentaly we both got it yeaterday..which is very weird, because neither one of the girls are sick. I have noticed several differences between Chris and I when we are sick. He is working days this week, and got home before me last night. I come in and he is latying on the couch covered from head to toe with a blanket. I get right to work, cleaning up the house..Putting sidhes in the dish washer, running the dishwasher, wiping the counters, and cleaning up a few of the toys. Chris lays on the couch watching me complaining he doesn't feel well. I sit down next to him and said oh, yeah, lets compare symptoms.
Chris: I'm stuffy
Me: Me too
C: My body hurts
M: Welcome to my world
C: I think I have a fever
M: Probably want to take your temp
C: No, I would rather pretend so I cans till complain
M: just stares blankly at him

See how different men and women are? I still take care of the kids and the house and Chris when I am sick..Remember when I had baby sickness, the flu, more baby sickness then the sinus infection, the house did not fall apart..Now Chris has a simple cold and he is laying on his death bed..LOL

Must have done something right

My stepdad called me this morning around 6:15 asking if I was awake..Oh how soon they forget that just because the weather is warm in Florida does not mean its warm up north. It snowed last night, alot. To much for me to drive the 40 miles I drive to work everyday. I tried to get back to sleep, but I was not the only one who heard the phone. Next thing I know both girls are up and really to play...How at 6:30 in the morning I have no idea.
The reason for the call so early, I can imagine is that he was excited. He gets like that sometimes..Like Alanna going down the toy isle at the store or Hannah when she is allowed to so anything she isn't normally allowed to do..My stepdad moved to Florida with my mom in August...well he was down there a little bit sooner, He goes to a college called Full Sail. Its a techie type of school and way to hard for me to explain....maybe along the line of ITT, but I'm not completely sure about that. He likes to use us, his kids for some of his projects...A couple of months ago he took pictures of my step sisters and "cleaned" them up on the computer and they looked really good. In his old school he had to make a small film or something like that and Hannah was in it..So when he was given his last project, I guess he thought it was due time to use me...so I wouldn't feel left out of course. Where am I? Oh right, he was very excited this morning and had me go to his blog, yes he has a blog too. Then he had me view this video...Don't you just LOVE IT. I do. It was well worth the wait. So tell me what do you think?

No Strike!

A few have asked for an update on the strike. We are NOT striking, yay! Our union and the company have a agreed and it was voted and approved 97%. Merry christmas to me. I am so releived about that I feel like 1000 pounds of stress have been lifted.

Now Chris and I are struggleing to get Christmas done..I have never been so far behind on shopping in my life. I do not like this feeling. I cannot wait until this weekend, when I finish and will have at least one day to feel the no stress...LOL.

Today I feel a little better. I think I found a pattern. From about 7:30am-2:00pm I feel sick, from then on, I feel good. Chris is being great with all this. He is picking up where I have been slacking in the house and with the girls. At first he didn't understand because with Alanna I did not feel like this, but he finally caught on, when we were having one of my favorite meals and I would not even look at it, for sake of being sick..he finally realized that I am sick and not just lazy, LOL! Now hes doing things, that I usually do and I don't even have to ask him...what a guy :)

What a busy weekend we had..
First off, we went to the Boat Races again this year..If you remember last year the boat racer that we know (and my step dad pit crewed for) got into a terrible accident and was injured..(I should find the link, but I am lazy)Well 1 year later he is doing well. Still not walking, but making improvements everyday. He was there to support his fellow racers and also had a friend racing his boat..Well his friend won 1st place and made the boat World Champion in honor of John Broge (the injured racer)..

I finally broke down and bought a Mei tai for Alanna. Drea talked about a lady on ebay who made them and sold them for a very reasonable price. I recieved it on Thursday, and was a little worried because when I put Alanna in it then she really didn't seem to interested. Well was I wrong, on Saturday Alanna loved being carried around all day and even fell asleep while we were walking around. I forgot my camera so sorry no cute pictures of me and her, but trust me, it was CUTE!

Saturday, Chris and I had a date night...FUN

On Sunday my MIL took me to lunch and then we did a little shopping. It was a really nice day.

PS.Did I mention today is mu birthday? It is

Chris hearts Tasha

[Insert apologies and excuses for not blogging in a couple of days]

Have I told you that Chris got a new job? Well he did...same job field, better MUCH better company. He gets paid vacations, benefits, 401K, and more $$$ which is always a PLUS, and he gets a company car..well in his case a truck, but you get the point. I am so excited for him to have this opportunity. You know how sometimes you wish for that one job to just fall in your lap? Well this was that job. A friend at his old company was going to the new one and told Chris to just check it out. He went there one day and by the time he was leaving he was filling in the new employee paper work..This is exactly what we have been waiting for.

Look how sweet:

Chris

I didn't know it was this hard

I was a single mom with Hannah for 3 1/2 years before Chris and I got together. I had to learn to take both the mom and dad roles. I had to learn how to take control of mine and hers life and make all the decisions. The roles never changed much when Chris and I got together because I was never sure if things were gonna work out with us just dating.
Then I got pregnant with Alanna and and all of a sudden some of my parenting responsibilities were being shared with another person. It was a new concept and it was hard to adjust and still is at times.
When Chris asked me to marry him, I started on trying to let some control go because this man was going to be my husband now. Its a strange feeling releasing the control that you have had for 5 years and allowing someone else to share it with you. I don't know why I thought marriage wold be such an easy transition. Here's what I mean.
Chris and I meet in 2002 from friends, he was with another girl and so I never gave another thought of us being together. About a year later Chris and I met again and this time he was single and so was I. Over time Chris and I started to talk more between just us and didn't need our friends to be there. We started dating and a couple months later Chris moved in with Hannah and me. It was kinda fast, but we really cared for each other, and it felt right. I still had the control over the house because it was "my" house. Chris always said it never felt like his house because he just moved in. Chris and I have lived together since January 2004. We bought a new house together last August, and I thought marriage would be an easy thing to adjust to, but I'm soon finding out that it is not.
Its different. He is no longer mt boyfriend, he is my husband and I am his wife. With that title comes a whole new load of responsibility. I'm having a hard time adjusting to being married. Allowing him to make some decisions that will impact us as a family, and sometimes I am scared if I let him make a choice, it may be the wrong one and I will blame him, versus me making a bad choice and only having myself to blame. Did anyone else have this problem? Is there something wrong with our marriage? I love Chris, but I find it hard sometimes to agree with his decisions and wondering if I made a mistake in letting go of my control of the situation. Its only been 2 months since the wedding, are we going to make to 20 years? Longer?

Thanks for the help

What happen to people being out there just to help?
I must have ran over a nail or something because when I came out of work today I had a flat tire...I work at a corporate building and drove my car around to the security booth and asked if there was a place near by I could get some air. I work in the city and really only know my way to and from work which is usually a 35-40 minute drive. My tire was dead flat. Well the guard told me there wasn't really anywhere near there to get air. I asked if he could help change my tire. He told me he was handicapped and went back in the booth. I pulled my car back into a parking spot and called my dad, who lives about 15 minutes away.

My dad has had 2 knee replacement surgeries so no way did I expect him to come, but I asked what I should do because 4 men and 8 women have already walked by and looked at my tire and kept going. I didn't really want to call Chris because he works midnights and was sleeping. My dad said to call my companies security desk (its located in the building) to see if they could offer any assistance. I called the supervisor in that dept and he said that its not in the job description and its strictly on a volunteer bases. No one volunteered.

Finally I had no other choice and I called Chris. Of course he was sleeping and just hearing his voice I started to cry. At this point almost everyone has left and seen me standing outside my car with a flat tire and not one person asked if I needed anything. Chris said he would get out of bed and come help..At this time I am really balling my eyes out because A.) I felt bad for waking him up, B.) Not one person offered to help, and C.) I would have to wait an hour before he could get there with the rush hour traffic and all.

Well the Security guard must have seen me crying because he came over and asked if I had anyone coming to help. I told him my husband but it would be at least an hour. So he said he would see what he could do. I gave him my car manual (because I have never had a flat tire in this car before and didn't even know where the spare tire was, go figure). He locate the jack but we couldn't get it out so he went to his car and got the tire iron and the jack and started changing the tire. I called Chris back and told him to not come because the security guard was finally helping me out. An hour later the spare tire was on and I was heading home..
I just don't understand what is up with the world and the people living in it. I counted a final total of 22 people walking out of the building while I was standing there and not one of them asked if I needed help. I actually had people stop and watch the security guard help me and then say "You should have AAA". Well obviously I don't and thanks for the tip, Asshole!

Its a sad day when you realize that you are on your own if anything bad ever happened.
I did however fall a little bit more in love with my hubby tonight. This was our first "I need you to come rescue me" moment and he was ready to come as fast as lightening. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside and I want to smother him in some kisses.

Tales of a hot wife

About 2 weeks ago Chris and I were in the living room and he said to me that it was kinda hot in the house. I had the oven on, so I told him that it may be that. About an hour later Chris was sitting on the couch dripping sweat. In his brilliance Chris stated that he didn't think it was the oven. He went to one of the air vents and nothing was coming out...Not cold air, not hot air, just nothing.

He went and checked the air conditioner and the fan was running, yet no air was pumping out. Chris being the not so Mr Handy man called a friend, who is a handyman, to come look at it. After a while of them looking at the air unit, they decided they could fix it...A week and half later I had the air conditioning people come look at it.

Who knew that just coming to look at an air conditioner was so expensive. It ranged from $120 an hour to $60 just to run a diagnostic on the unit. Mr professional called me at work with the diagnosis. Ready? He said the unit has been tilted and all the oil leaked off the compressor causing it to rub together with no lube (stop it) and that to have a new compressor and a re level would cost $1700, but he doesn't recommend that, because the unit is already 7 years old. Oh no, he says that he can't guarantee that the re leveling and the new compressor won't cause other things to malfunction.. What Mr professional recommends is a new unit at $3900, but don't worry we finance he says. I call Chris and he says that he grew up without air...Not a funny joke. He says that now that he knows what is wrong with the unit he and his Mr handy man friend can fix it.

Well last week when I was calling around for a professional to come look at the unit, Chris made me promise that before spending a lot of money to get a list of whats wrong and before he goes to work the next night he will have the unit fixed. Now I don't know if I have ever mentioned before that Chris is not the most handy man of them all, he can hammer a nail and thats about it....(shh, don't tell him I told you that). The deal was it would be fixed with in a few days or we would somehow come up with the money for a new air unit. So this morning I remind him of our deal. He goes to the local air conditioning store, well not so local its about 35 minutes away and he buys the parts..What happens when he gets home..wrong model #. When he went back, the store was closed. I come home and remind him of our deal again and he swears he will have it fixed...I will keep you updated. Hey, you never know this could be the shortest marriage you ever seen. Just kidding, chill out, I still love my husband, he may just have to sleep on the couch for a couple of nights because its to hot to have 2 bodies in the same bed...LOL!

Just to get a feeling of what we are going through. Check out our 10 day forecast. Keep in mind that Michigan is the great lake state and all that water makes the humidity HORRIBLE!
