Theres no school today due to the extremely frigid weather. Theres also no school on Monday for MLK Jr. day. I think I'm gonna cuddle up with a book and relax since I won't be taking the kids out anywhere, anytime soon.
PS..I just wanted to let everyone know I have been by your blogs lately to check out whats been going on..Its just really hard to comment when you have a squirmy, cranky 5 month old in your arms for all hours of the day due to the evil awful teeth that are playing hide and seek right now. As soon as the little bugger shows himself, I will be back to commenting...PROMISE!

weather and my cute kid
I'm almost afraid to say it, but I finally think summer is here in Michigan. I have been drooling over all these posts from other people about how hot it is where they live and the pictures of the shorts and swimming, while me and my kids are here in sweatshirts and jackets.. This morning at 7:00am the bank said it was 77...and...humid. Well it didn't say it was humid but you could feel it for sure. I am not a big fan of the humidity, please tell me who is? But I am a fan of warm weather way more so than snow and cold. Today its supposed to get to 92ish...I am stuck in the office, but have every intention of enjoying this HOT weather this weekend. Can you picture shamou? (shamoo?), (sham moo?) in a bathtub..that will be me, LOL
Yesterday Alanna played in the sprinkler at Mimi's house (Aunt Tammy/Uncle Kyle) and could not stop talking about all the fun she had. I told her today we would send her bathing suit and she responded in, "my babysuit, oh momma, I so appy." It was the cutest phrase every said in the WORLD, I swear I checked it out...It seems her talking has just clicked. She so enjoyable to have a conversation with. This morning on the way to Mimi's house, Hannah was singing..Alanna looked at her and yelled STOPPPP, Hannah said why? Alanna shot back with e-cuz. (because) and just left it at that. She then started to crack herself up and we all laughed the rest of the way. Even on the most stressful of mornings, my girls are the greatest.

Tales of a hot wife
About 2 weeks ago Chris and I were in the living room and he said to me that it was kinda hot in the house. I had the oven on, so I told him that it may be that. About an hour later Chris was sitting on the couch dripping sweat. In his brilliance Chris stated that he didn't think it was the oven. He went to one of the air vents and nothing was coming out...Not cold air, not hot air, just nothing.
He went and checked the air conditioner and the fan was running, yet no air was pumping out. Chris being the not so Mr Handy man called a friend, who is a handyman, to come look at it. After a while of them looking at the air unit, they decided they could fix it...A week and half later I had the air conditioning people come look at it.
Who knew that just coming to look at an air conditioner was so expensive. It ranged from $120 an hour to $60 just to run a diagnostic on the unit. Mr professional called me at work with the diagnosis. Ready? He said the unit has been tilted and all the oil leaked off the compressor causing it to rub together with no lube (stop it) and that to have a new compressor and a re level would cost $1700, but he doesn't recommend that, because the unit is already 7 years old. Oh no, he says that he can't guarantee that the re leveling and the new compressor won't cause other things to malfunction.. What Mr professional recommends is a new unit at $3900, but don't worry we finance he says. I call Chris and he says that he grew up without air...Not a funny joke. He says that now that he knows what is wrong with the unit he and his Mr handy man friend can fix it.
Well last week when I was calling around for a professional to come look at the unit, Chris made me promise that before spending a lot of money to get a list of whats wrong and before he goes to work the next night he will have the unit fixed. Now I don't know if I have ever mentioned before that Chris is not the most handy man of them all, he can hammer a nail and thats about it....(shh, don't tell him I told you that). The deal was it would be fixed with in a few days or we would somehow come up with the money for a new air unit. So this morning I remind him of our deal. He goes to the local air conditioning store, well not so local its about 35 minutes away and he buys the parts..What happens when he gets home..wrong model #. When he went back, the store was closed. I come home and remind him of our deal again and he swears he will have it fixed...I will keep you updated. Hey, you never know this could be the shortest marriage you ever seen. Just kidding, chill out, I still love my husband, he may just have to sleep on the couch for a couple of nights because its to hot to have 2 bodies in the same bed...LOL!
Just to get a feeling of what we are going through. Check out our 10 day forecast. Keep in mind that Michigan is the great lake state and all that water makes the humidity HORRIBLE!

countdown: 4 days and counting...
Do you believe it? 4 days, 4 days and I will be married. I had a reality check last night. I started thinking that this is the last Tuesday I will have my last name, this is the last Tuesday I can ever say I have never been married, this is the last Tuesday I live my life as I know it...Next tuesday I will be a married woman. Wow, thats kinda a lot to handle. I do feel like I am handleing the situation fine though. I'm not nervous about being married, and I'm not nervous about the wedding. I am nervous about Alanna acting right and being quiet during the ceremony, I am nervous about everything coming together, and I am nervous that I will get a HUGE ZIT the morning of...I have a constant butterfly feeling in my stomach, but that could be from having next week off and I am so excited to have a whole week away from my job, that could be the reson. I have so many emotions going through my mind right now that I can't define each one. All I know is that there is only 4 days left. Oh yeah, the weather says exactly what it needs to be. Check it out.

This weekend has been filled with non other than wedding related stress. I am feeling a little better. My sinus' are really bothering me, but mostly in the morning now. Friday I went and bought some hershey kisses to go in our personalized favor bags, and Chris helped fill them. They are so cute. I finished wrapping the bouquets with the white ribbon, and Alanna had her final dress fitting. (my mom is making her dress, its adorable.) Now I am off to my cousins wedding shower because she is getting married in June. Busy, Busy. Oh I checked the forecast. Its says partly sunny with a 10% chance of rain with a high temp of 57. Hopefully it will change to be about 65-70 degress, but I am good with the sun and 10% chance of rain. We will see.

Dear Mother Nature,
I know sometimes people ask a lot from you, but this time is different. I also know that sometimes things are out of control and its hard to get back on task. However this is a different situation. A couple of weeks ago it was in the 80 degree range. It was nice, we had the windows open and the kids played outside. If you moved to much you would even sweat. Know I am not a big fan of sweat but at a time like this I would be willing to take it all on. In case you haven't heard my wedding is in 15 days...15 days dear mother and I am asking, no begging you to please send the cold, rainy, windy weather down to our friends in Florida. They do not need the warm weather all the time. They need to share. Please take this into consideration and know that if I always had beautiful weather I would share it for this one special life altering day.

who knew?
Wedding count down: 83 days and counting.Things for the wedding are really moving along and coming together. Today Chris and I ventured out in the below freezing weather to register for the wedding. If you are curious we went here and here. Chris had never registered for anything before and it took a minute to get it down and then once he did he was telling me to scan everything. We had a good day together. Are days out and about together are rare because of his work schedule, but with all the wedding stuff our weekends have been full and nice. I love spending time with Chris and today was even more fun since my mom came over to the house to watch the girls, so we didn't have to take them out in the cold. (In case you don't know, the weather here in Michigan is very cold..check it out, the news cast actually said t
o stay inside and if you MUST go out cover ALL skin areas, because you will freeze in less than 5-10 minutes....Can I come visit you in the warm climates, anyone? Nicole? Lindsay?) Anyways where was I, my mom came and played with the girls, Chris and I got to go by ourselves and it was fun. You should have seen us. We were running up and down the aisles with the register gun just scanning away.. picture 2 kids in a toy store and you have us in a grown up toy store. I think on more than one occasion, Chris asked if he could scan an xbox 360, I told him only if I could hire a maid...I did not get my maid. Registering for things for the house was the most fun. There are gadgets and gizmos that I have no idea what they do, but look really cool. They have makers for every type of food you want...quesadillas, waffles, ice cream, and even rice cookers. I thought you just put rice in a pot with boiling water and wait 5 minutes and its done...wow, maybe I should read the cook book I got for Christmas. I will be the 1st to admit that I am not a cooker. I am learning and the few things I can make have turned out really good. I told Chris if I got half the stuff we asked for he will have a hot dinner on the table every night. Cooking has to be fun and boy will it be once I get done. Maybe with all the new cooking stuff out there I should ask for some cooking lessons. That would be fun..can I bring the rice cooker with me? No more frozen microwave meals for us...Hey did you know they have something out there that cooks frozen pizza? No not an oven but a circles type heating grill and spins the pizza to cook it...WOW, and I thought I was advanced with a microwave oven.

On another note: Chris and I interviewed nanny#1 today. I didn't really like her. That's okay though since the ad in the paper has ran for 3 days and I have like 20 interviews over the next 2 weekends. moments of blank, bullet style
- I was tagged by Lindsay...Its a hard one. I have to search through my archives to find a post to reflect words given....come back and look for it in the next couple of days.
- The wedding count down is now at 96 days
- I went shopping last week and we bought all the flowers for the bouquets...I will post a pictures soon.
- I also got an arch that we will be married under. It has tool, flowers and lights all around it, so pretty
- This weekend I am taking my maids to get their dresses.
- When Alanna walks she looks like a zombie...so funny
- Alanna will now walk up to you and hug you for now reason. She even will pat your back, so precious
- Alanna said kitty and doggy over the weekend.
- Michigan has actually came into the winter season...we finally have snow and expecting more...not cool.
- I got one book for the counseling sessions in the mail...It was published in 1972 and its SO BORING. I am on chapter 2, and thats sad becasue I love to read.
- We are so excited to get the other 2.
